A message from Coach Donny about becoming a Volunteer Coach or Junior Coach for the 2019 swim season:
As you all know we are in full force planning for our 2019 season. With the Holiday season in full effect and kids returning from school for break, it’s a great time to get started with hiring coaches.
How do I become a Volunteer Coach?
You MUST be 12 years of age;
You MUST be a registered Barracuda swimmer for the 2019 season;
Anyone that has not been in the water with swimmers in past seasons will be required to put in 15 hours of volunteer time before they are eligible to be a paid coach;
Once completing the 15 hours of volunteer time & when you reach 15 years of age (work permit req. if 15 years old) swimmer will become eligible for hire;
Swimmer MUST communicate with the head coach regarding when hours will be completed.
***I would highly recommend that any swimmers looking to become a paid coach for the Summer season finish any volunteer hours during Spring Clinic in March.
Please note: Not all volunteer coaches will earn a paid position. Please understand that this is a job. I need the swimmers to be committed to teaching the swimmers and improving the skills in the water. If I see a volunteer coach that I do not believe would benefit our coaching staff I will make sure that is properly communicated to all parties involved.’
How do I become a Jr. Coach (PAID coach)?
Ensure you have completed volunteer hours unless approved otherwise by the head coach;
Set up a one-on-one interview with Coach Donny;
Must be a swimmer on the team or a graduate that has swam with Barracudas 2+ years.
Please note: The coaching staff will make final decisions on hiring.
If your swimmer is interested in a fun filled summer coaching kids in a sport that they love, I want to meet them! Please email Coach Donny and we will set up a time to meet one-on-one.
Thank you everyone. I’m looking forward to meeting all of your swimmers very soon!
