 2014 PreSeason Update

In this Update:

____________________________________________

We are just 6 days away from the beginning of our season and the first Official's Training session.  I'm looking forward to seeing you there - and please pass along this information to any new prospective officials at your club.

If you need a shirt this season, please forwarded me your information by 5/22 unless you are attending the 1st training where you can give me your information at that time. I will be placing the order on 5/23 to ensure we all have shirts prior to the start of the season.  Please provide the following information

  • Name
  • Club
  • Size

Midlakes Officials Training Schedule

The following are the dates, times and locations for this year's officials training (you only need to pick one to attend).  Keep in mind that the first ~2 hours are for everyone, the 3rd hour is for referees/starters.  If your club is hosting a Divisional Champs (B-Champs), it is important that your head official attend the entire training.  Any official, new or returning, is welcome at these sessions.

Tuesday May 27 6:30-9:30 pm Mercerwood Shore Club
Wednesday May 28 7-10 pm Samena
Saturday May 31st 11 am-2 pm Mercerwood Shore Club

Tuesday June 10th 6pm-9pm Woodinville Fire House (17718 Woodinville Snohomish Rd)  CHANGED TO JUNE 2ND AT KINGSGATE LIBRARY

Per Midlakes By-Laws, all officials are required to attend one training session per year.  Returning officials who cannot attend the designated returning officials session are welcome to attend any other session.  Please mark your calendar now for one of those sessions!

2014 Returning Officials Training

As in prior years, a "returning officials" session has been scheduled for Monday May 19th 8pm-10pm at Samena.  Please note, this session is ONLY for:

  • experienced Midlakes officials
  • those who attended Officials Training last year(s)

If an individual missed training last year (but did officiate during the 2013 season), they may attend with notification to me from their club's coach or volunteer coordinator attesting to their participation as an official.  If you have any questions about your status, please contact me so I can confirm that you are on the list.

USA Swimming Officials Training

If you have thought about becoming a certified official with USA Swimming, please let me know.  There will likely be some opportunities coming up - and if there's enough interest from Midlakes folks, we can put together our own session.

Thanks for your involvement in support of swimming and let me know if you have any questions.  If you no longer are participating in Midlakes, please let me know and I'll remove you from this distribution list.

Regards,

Frank Castro
