Swim Meet FAQ

What do I bring to a Swim Meet?
LABEL EVERYTHING.  It can get really crowded and items can get misplaced pretty easily.  Here's a good checklist:

  • Plan on arriving 1 to 1 1/2 hrs before meet start time for parking and seating purposes. Parking lots tend to get full quick and some venues seating can be very sparse. PLAN TO ARRIVE EARLY!

  • Team Swim Suit (best place to label it is inside on the lining of the suit with a sharpie)

  • Swim Cap (optional)

  • Goggles (it's always good to have a spare pair - they can get lost or broken easily)

  • Sunscreen

  • Thin dark sharpie (to write swimmers events on their hands so they don't miss their races)

  • 2 - 3 Towels

  • Chair or blanket to sit on

  • Healthy snacks, water or sports drinks.  Each team will have a concession stand so this is optional.

  • Cash or change for the concessions

This was a great experience and my child is interested in competing in a Year Around program. Where can I get more information?
Several of you have expressed an interest in continuing your child's swimming development.  If your swimmer is ready to take it to the next level, Colorado has several teams in the area that would help them reach their goals. Please check out for swimming programs throughout the Denver area for information and opportunities.
