Dive Meet Volunteers
Dive Meets require many fewer volunteers than a swim meet. Please help the dive meets run smoothly by volunteering your time and talents. The divers will appreciate you!!
Score Keeping Volunteers:
Sit on the balcony and record judge scores. Must be comfortable typing or writing numbers quickly. Best view in the house! There are two sessions available. The one listed from 4:30-6:30 is for 10 and under and 11-12. The one listed from 6:30-8:30 is 13-14 and 15-18.
NEEDS: 1 additional person to assist on computer, 1 person to write scores on paper
Fill out the backs of ribbons with winner name, pool name, etc and hand them to happy divers. This task is most demanding at the end of each dive session and very start of the next, and quiet during sessions. There are two sessions available. The one listed from 4:30-6:30 is for 10 and under and 11-12. The one listed from 6:30-8:30 is 13-14 and 15-18.
NEEDS: 2 people writing out names/pool on each ribbon, 1st through 6th place in each of 8 divisions. At end of meet, walk box of supplies upstairs to Meet Director.
Help get divers behind the boards so that diving moves in a timely fashion. Have people find missing divers. Tell the diver on-deck what their dive is supposed to be. 1 person per meet. This position is needed for 10 and under and 11-12 only.
1 or 2 people to introduce divers, announce dives, read scores. We have a script, and ask people to check in before the meet begins. We tend to select an announcer, as this person must be quick to read scores, dive rosters, and have a voice easy to listen to. We may have multiple announcers if a meet is longer. Please talk to the Meet Director BEFORE signing up for this position.
2 parents bring 2 dozen bars each to share during the meet to continue the dive team tradition. Must not contain peanuts or nuts. Brownies, Rice Krispie treats, pan cookies, etc. This job is available for both home and away meets.
