Champs Warmup Info. & Some Olympic Inspiration

On Saturday, warm-ups will begin at 6:30am. All 1st half swimmers will meet at the Swimarin tent. At 6:45am coach will walk all swimmers to the pool for a 1/2 hour swim warm-up in Lane 7, Deep End. If you are late, just go directly to the pool, again, Lane 7, Deep End.

Also, a Swimarin Parent, Mike McNevin, gathered some inspirational information on Marin swimmers who have qualified for the Olympics! I know after watching the US Olympic Trials, MY kids swam faster at the next meet! Thanks Mike!

Scott Weltz; Marin Pirates (Finals: 200 Meter Breast) Interview

All the kids will understand the swim jargon and hopefully relate to their own situation. All the stuff they are learning from Sharks!

Also, here is an IJ article about Scott Weltz.

What makes this such a victory is Scott was not on any radar to win. None of the swim mags talked about him. No one interviewed him. He came from left field to out beat all the favorites. He had to hit a number of personal best times to place during trials and then to win in finals. And it wasn’t like he came to swim the 200BR only… he swam the 200IM earlier in the day. Anyway, those who enjoys underdog stories will enjoy watching Scott and reading how he made it.
