Team Voted Awards

Carol Jacobson Memorial Award

Carol Jacobson was devoted to the community of Maple Hills.  Many felt that Carol was the backbone of the swim team, keeping things running smoothly for many years.  In 1997, Carol lost her battle with cancer. Since she was a parent that was so dedicated to the success of the swim team the Carol Jacobson Memorial Award was created.

Each year this award is given to a parent that is instrumental to the success to our swim team.

Board Voted Awards

Dean Woerner Award - Most Inspirational Swimmer (Boy & Girl)

Dean Woerner was a big contributor in creating the swim team. He brought the neighborhood together by creating our team. He built the first blocks, found lane lines and other essential items. His boys swam and he was a very active parent on the team. He died of cancer a few years later and this award was created in his honor. Each year the team votes for the swimmer whom they feel best exemplifies this ideal. A swimmer who is hard working, determined, enthusiastic, shows good sportsmanship, a friend to all and is most inspirational for the team.
