Hi Parents,

Your swimmers will be bringing home Goal Cards to fill out.  Help them look up or find any results and times from the previous year swimming.  If your swimmer is new at the sport, their goals can be more general statements.  The following is an example of how each swimmer can fill out their goal cards.

Name-  swimmers writes their own name

What- write event or goal they want to accomplish

How- exactly how they will accomplish the goal in and out of practice

Best Time-  if you can find it or use the practice time

Goal-  the swimmers' specific goal ( not Mom or Dad's :)

By When- May 18= Black and Blue Meet

Actual-  This is filled out  May 18 or 19

*  Bring back to the coach and I will make copies for us then return it to your swimmer to display at home.

Also, Coach Jaime, Josh and I are putting together the list of who swims in which groups.  We are asking some swimmers to come at different times than their own age group because there will be more space and coaching staff to help at the various levels.  That list will be ready tonight at practice.  The practice times are the same that have been posted

And once again, thank you parents for your kids.  This is an exciting group to coach.  Yes, we will go through a few transitions and adjustments however, this will also help all of us coaches get to know each of your kids better.

Your Polar Bear Coach,

Coach Nancy

04/02/2017:

Welcome back Polar Bears.  This is going to be a great year for our returning swimmers as well as our new Polar Bear team members.

Because of March clinic, we already have quite a few Polar Bear Cub graduates ready for the 2017 season.  And many returning swimmers are on their way to amazing swimming. Nice job listening, learning and doing all we did during March Clinic.

This year, be ready for each practice with all your equipment.  This year each swimmer needs:
*Cap, goggles, competitive swim suit
*towel, sun screen, and a bag to hold all you stuff if you have one.
*kick board (you may borrow one of ours
*long blade training fins (ask a coach if you have any questions)

Also, it is very important to stay hydrated and have energy for practices, fun events and games, and meets.....so
* eat a nutritious snack before and after. Practice
* drink plenty of water and/or low or no sugar drinks.  Save citrus food and drinks for after practice.

I am looking forward to seeing all of our amazing Polar Bears this year.  Our practices are Monday through Friday.  Be looking for the Coaches' Polar Bear Sightings (swimmers of the week) this season.  More on this later.

Happy being your coach,

Coach Nancy
