Evaluations – May 18 & 19 from 12:00-2:00pm at Winrock pool. All NEW swimmers must attend one of the evaluation sessions in order to be assigned a practice group. Swimmers can arrive at Winrock anytime within the 12:00-2:00pm designated time schedule and will be evaluated in order of arrival. Each evaluation usually takes approximately 10 minutes, however, the wait time may be longer depending on the number of swimmers in line for an evaluation. Coaches will evaluate swimmers and assign a practice group color. This color group will determine the swimmers’ practice time. Evaluations for all RETURNING swimmers wanting to change practice groups will be held at the same time. May 18 & 19 from 12:00-2:00pm at Winrock Pool.

Evening Practice begins on Monday, May 20, Morning Practice begins on Monday, June 3

All Practices will be at Winrock Pool

Spirit Wear & Suit Sizing – Our vendor is The Lifeguard Store. Spirit wear and suits are available to order online under the Suits & Apparel tab above after you have signed-in (you must sign-in to access this tab).  FYI – All swim team members receive a complimentary team t-shirt and extras will be available to purchase for parents and siblings at the first home meet! We will have spirit wear samples & suit sizing on deck during evaluations on May 18 & 19 from 12:00-2:00pm.  Turnaround time on suits is 10 to 15 days, so the sooner you order the sooner you will receive your gear!

Parent meeting – May 21 at 12:30pm and May 23 at 6:00pm at Civic Center in Room 1.  Please attend one of the parent meetings listed. We will go over the parent handbook and much more. Please review the parent handbook prior to the meeting – it is available on the Swim Team page of the Oswegoland Park District (www.oswegolandparkdistrict.org) or on Otters’ Team Unify (www.oswegootters.org). In order to save trees, we will not be distributing copies. Please have your questions ready!

Officials Training – We can always use more Officials! If you are interested in becoming certified to officiate the Otters’ swim meets, please contact Aquatic Supervisor at ottersswimteam@oswegolandpd.org.
We are looking forward to a great season of swimming.  We appreciate the hard work of our great parent volunteers, excellent coaches and, of course, our Otters’ swimmers- Let’s GO OTTERS!  Don’t hesitate to contact us with questions- see you soon.

Job Signup- Next to the Attend/Decline tab
Otters swim meets are ran solely from parent volunteers.  All jobs are family friendly and are great for newbies and returning families.  We ask that at least 1 parent or guardian volunteer for 1 shift per meet.
Please take more time to explore the Oswego Otter's website:  www.oswegootters.org.

Any questions please email ottersswimteam@oswegolandpd.org.

Would you like to become an Otter’s Official? The Otter’s meets are run by parent volunteers, including the officials. Here is a way to become an official for only the summer without having to officiate over the winter.

Since there is no requirement to have a certified official at any summer conference meet, we will be offering an uncertified official class. The purpose of the class is to teach officiating basics for the benefit of the coaches and the swimmers. Parents who go through the class are able to start the races, judge strokes and turns, and pick finishes.

NCISC Official Training will be announced or you can log on to USA swimming to find other Official Trainings. The Otters Swim Team will reimburse any Official Training up to $100.

We could use your help!

Sincerely,

The Oswego Otters Staff
