How-To

ONLINE SIGNUP IS EASY! Welcome to the 21st century. The online process to declare your child's availability to swim, or absence, is a very simple but important task that each family is expected to do. This information allows the coach to plan strategically and avoid costly scratches that could result in lost points for the team and opportunities for a teammates. Declare your swimmer's availability to participate each week, or you can simplify your life and declare your swimmer's availability for the entire season at the beginning of the summer.

The information contained within this “How-To” should help you navigate your way to a successful signup, and you'll quickly become a pro. Should you want to know more about a particular volunteer job or social committee before committing, brief descriptions can all be located in the “Volunteers” section of the website.

Why not make it easy on yourself and declare the entire season and choose your job signups all at once! Don't forget it's just as important to declare known absences such as vacations, as it is to advise the coach about your attendance. We respectfully ask that you make every effort to avoid vacations during swim season if possible. If travel is inevitable, small schedule adjustments such as delaying departure until after a Saturday morning swim meet can sometimes make a difference in a win/loss for the team.

Online Volunteer Signup

1.  Your registration and payment must be complete before you can sign into your account and sign up for jobs.

2.  Once signed in, select "Events" from the top navigation bar to view a chronological list of meets and events.

3.  Select any event in the list to view a description and event details. Click the gray "Job Signup" button to display the list of jobs associated with that event.

4.  Click in the box next to a job, and a checkmark will indicate your selection. Click the "Signup" button at the bottom left, and you will have successfully completed your first job signup! It's that simple.

5.  Disregard the note about "points"— the Chargers do not use a point system.

Once you have signed up for a job, you can return to the list by clicking on "Home" and then "Events" from the top navigation bar to repeat the process. You can, of course, signup for as many jobs as you like, and we will be extremely grateful to those who go above and beyond the minimum. Remember, if your child is swimming, a member of your family should be helping in some capacity.

Online Meet Signup (or...Declaring Your Swimmer's Availability, or.... RSVP)

This very important task notifies the Head Coach of your child's attendance/absence for swim meets, and allows him to seed the meet with a confirmed roster.

1.  Your registration and payment must be complete before you can sign into your account and declare your child's participation in a swim meet.

2.  Once signed in, select "Events" from the top navigation bar to view a chronological list of meets and events.

3.  Select any event in the list to view a description and details.

4.  Click the gray "Attend/Decline" button, and you will then be presented with a list of athletes registered in your account. If no previous action was taken on this event, the swimmers will display as "Undeclared".

5.  Click directly on a swimmers name. Event synopsis is again presented, but this time with a dropdown menu titled, "Declaration". Select "Yes, please sign "FastFreddie"
up for this event." OR "No thanks,
"FastFreddie"
will NOT attend this event." Swimmer status will update, and you are DONE!

6.  What if you need to change your response? No problem. Go to "Events" on the Home page and locate the desired event in the chronological list. The "Attend/Decline" button will now display as a pink "Edit Commitment" button. Click the button and follow steps 4-5 to change your response.

TIP: Not only can you sign up for jobs and declare attendance from both the "Events" and "Team Calendar" drop down menus, but also from the Events floating panel on the lower left of the home page. Same sign up process applies.
