Colin began swimming on a summer team in Texas when he was 7 years old. When he was 10 his family moved to Virginia and they joined the Mako’s. Throughout middle school Colin swam for OCCS year-round. He swam his freshman year of high school for Osbourn Park but ran track the rest of high school. Colin started coaching for the Mako’s as a volunteer for the Mini Mako’s program. After coaching Mini’s for a summer, he coached as a JAC for three summers. This is his first summer as an Assistant Coach and the Mini Mako Program Lead. This past year he completed his freshman year of college at Northern Virginia Community College. In the fall, he will be transferring to James Madison University where he plans on majoring in Public Administration and Policy. In addition to coaching for the Mako's, Colin is a Head Lifeguard at Oak Ridge Swim Club and the Senior Head Lifeguard at the Prince William County Schools Aquatics Center. He has always loved swimming and is excited to continue with his passion for swimming with the Meadowbrook Woods Swim Team.
We have a cadre of teen volunteer coaches assisting the coaches as needed to ensure safety and success of the program.
An announcement requesting teen team members to volunteer for this program has been released and expressions of interest are due May 19 to Mark Pahls at firstname.lastname@example.org.
