In addition to our competitive swim program, the Piedmont Tsunamis offer the White Cap developmental swim program. The White Cap Program is offered during our fall and winter/spring indoor sessions, as well as our summer season. It is designed for newer swimmers 4-8 years of age and focuses on teaching the various stroke techniques used in competitive swimming while encouraging a life-long love of swimming. The program is not designed to replace beginner swim lessons. If the coaching staff deems that a swimmer is not ready for the White Caps, the Tsunamis will issue a full refund of the registration fee.
White Cap Summer Swim Program
Swimmers in our summer White Cap Program meet for approximately six weeks, from the week after school lets out until the end of July. Practices are held Monday - Friday mornings at the Simpson Pool (by the back gate of Piedmont) where we also hold our competitive swim meets. White Cap swimmers do not participate in our weekly summer swim meets, but do have an inter-squad "Mini-Meet" toward the end of the season. During our fall and winter/spring indoor sessions, the White Caps meet twice a week in the evenings.
