Maurie Stevens is SPST's Head Coach. A position he has held for the past 7 years. As a swimmer, he was on summer swim leagues for 11 years, swam for 4 years in high school, and swam 1 year for George Mason University. Maurie believes that "swimming is important because it gives young people a great sense of accomplishment and confidence that helps them mature and take on challenges in life." He adds, "Being able to inspire a sense of accomplishment and promise is why I love to coach."
Debra Clark hascoached SPST since 2009. Prior to that, she started volunteering in 1997 and she coached the farm team for three years, and worked as clerk of course. Her two daughters have now "aged out" after competing on SPST starting at ages 4 and 6 years old. Her husband, Harry, is the "computer geek". She has a BS from Penn State in Health & Physical Education, and a Masters from Boston University in Counseling. She also coaches Swim Team and Field Hockey at Osbourn HS. She loves coaching at SPST, because the swimmers are eager to learn, excited to improve their swimming, and the fun family atmosphere.
