Awards Night is typically held on the Tuesday evening following Conference Meet at the pool. This event includes dessert, coffee, presentation of awards for the season, and a slide show. Everyone is encouraged to attend, bring your own picnic dinner, and enjoy the show.
Each swimmer receives a trophy or medal (older age groups) and gets a goal time certificate for their goal achievements. Polliwogs receive team awards at the last Polliwog session.
The coaches award trophies (plaques) for special achievement to individual swimmers. A boy and girl from each age group are selected to receive:
Most Time Improvements – Literally an award for the greatest number time improvements achieved during the season.
Most Improved – The award is based on having taken his/her strokes and/or times the farthest distance. Coaches also look at participation and attitude toward self-improvement.
Coaches Award – The award is based on exhibiting the highest character as a competitive athlete: "R.E.S.T" respect, enthusiasm, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Most Valuable Swimmer – The award is based on attitude, cooperation, participation and point contribution to the team.
A boy and girl from the team are selected to receive:
Strokemaster – This trophy is awarded to the swimmer with the best technique and style for each stroke and IM.
Most Inspirational – The award is based on being "inspirational" to their peers, team and coaches.
Most Valuable Award – The award will be based on who brought the most value to the team based on point contribution, attitude, participation and spirit for the entire team.
Each individual swimmer or relay team member breaking an existing Rudgear Estates event record at a swim meet will receive a record breaker ribbon and their name is engraved on our record board.
Any swimmer who qualifies at a dual meet for the County Swim Meet, regardless of actual participation in the meet, will receive a certificate. We support all swimmers who choose to attend this county-wide meet.
