Dual Meets

Rappahannock Swim League

The Rappahannock Swim League ( RSL) is made up of 24 summer swim teams from the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George and Orange, Virginia. The RSL is divided into four divisions: Battlefield, Patriot, American and National Division. Leeland Express is part of the Battlefield Division, which consists of six teams: Aquia Harbour, Curtis Park, Hampton OaksLeeland Station, Massad YMCA and Regency Park.

DUAL MEET INFORMATION

The summer swim season consists of six meets: one exhibition meet and five meets against the teams in the division. Three of these meets will be HOME meets at Leeland Station.

Warm-ups for home dual meets usually begin at 4:30 p.m.  Warm-ups for away dual meets usually begin at 5:00 p.m.  All swimmers should check in with coaches and be ready to go prior to warm-ups.

Home dual meets begin at 5:30 p.m.  Most away dual meets start at 6 p.m. and should end by around 10:30 p.m. if there are no rain or meet delays.

Rain Dates for all home meets will be the next day and TBA (at host team's discretion) for away meets.

Per the Registration Agreement, each family is required to sign up for a volunteer job for the mock meet, every home meet, away meet, and division finals in which their swimmer is entered. A description of each volunteer job is posted under the volunteer tab. To sign up, click on the "job signup" tab on the Events page for each meet.

If swimmers are unable to attend a meet they should notify the coaching staff and Volunteer Coordinator in advance of the meet. This is very important to ensure the meet is properly seeded and all critical volunteer jobs are covered. Also, if swimmers can’t stay for the entire meet, they should notify the coaching staff to ensure the relay participants are correctly seeded and to give other swimmers the opportunity to fill in and swim later events. The earlier the coaches and the volunteer coordinator know about your absences, the better.
