RSL DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIPS
All Battlefield Division teams compete at this meet for the "Division Championship" title.
Eligibility: Swimmers age 7&Up who have competed in at least 2 meets are eligible to swim in the Championship meet. Swimmers 6&Under (including DSP swimmers) who have competed in at least 1 meet are eligible. All swimmers must have a qualifying swim in a specific event during the regular season in order to swim.
Events: Entries are limited (each team may enter 8 swimmers in the freestyle events and 6 swimmers in the other individual events) and substitutions are prohibited. There will not be an event sign-up sheet for the Championship meet because seeding will be completed at the discretion of the Head Coach. Swimmers unable to participate should advise the Head Coach in writing as far in advance as possible. The Head Coach must submit all entries to RSL at the seeding party on the Saturday prior to the meet.
Swimmers are limited to a maximum of 3 individual events and 3 relay events. Each event will be divided into 3 groups designated A, B and C, which allows swimmers to compete directly against swimmers of similar ability. Awards and team points will be given to the 6 competitors who achieve the fastest times in each of the A, B and C groupings.
Relays: Teams may enter 1 relay in each relay event and points will be awarded to to the 6 teams who achieve the fastest times. In addition, teams may enter a second non-scoring freestyle relay for 8&U, 9-10 and 11-12 swimmers.
Schedule: Warm-ups MAY begin as early as 6:30 am and the meet is an all-day event. Exact times will be sent out prior to the meet each season. Swimmers 10&U will swim in the 1st session. 2nd session will include relays, 100 Free and 100 IM . 3rd session is for swimmers 11-18.
Heat Sheets: RSL Championship Heat Sheets will be available for purchase. The Heat Sheets will contain information such as heat and lane assignments for each event. Swimmers should note Event#/Heat#/Lane Assignment# and have this information with them when they arrive at the Clerk of Course. Typically, swimmers write this information on their arms/hands with a Sharpie marker.
Volunteers: Please check in with the Leeland Station Swim Team Volunteer Coordinator to receive your volunteer assignments.
Awards: All Championship medals and ribbons will be available for pick-up at the Team party following the meet. If you are not able to attend the party, awards will be available at the pool deck during the following week.
