Level 1

  • Front float unassisted (5 seconds)
  • Back float unassisted (5 seconds)
  • Front glide
  • Back glide
  • Front glide with kick
  • Back glide with kick
  • Front glide on side with kick (assisted)
  • Crawl stroke arm pulls (assisted)
  • Jump from side (assisted)

 

  • Comfortable in the water
  • Able to take direction
  • 3+ years old

 

 

Level 2

  • Level 1 skill review with increased distance
  • Introduction to side breathing (assisted)
  • Roll over front to back, back to front
  • Front glide on side with kick (unassisted)
  • Elementary backstroke (assisted)
  • Backstroke
  • Explore deep water
  • Swim underwater
  • Jump in water, return to side (unassisted)
  • Kneeling dive

 

 

Proficiency in Level 1 skills

Level 3

  • Level 2 skill review with increased time/distance
  • Crawl stroke with side breathing (unassisted)
  • Dive off side from standing
  • Elementary backstroke (unassisted)
  • Breaststroke

Proficiency in Level 2 skills

Stroke Improvement

Proficiency in all strokes including butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle (crawlstroke). 

Flip turns and racing dives will be covered as needed and at the instructor’s discretion.

This class is for the swimmer who knows the basics of each stroke but seeks to improve his/her stroke efficiency.
