Local Certification Courses
The off-season is the perfect time to get your lifeguard certification!
Lifeguarding skills stay with you a long time and will contribute to your personal and professional growth. Lifeguard certification allows you to gain employment in a job that has a high need for qualified people.
***The following pools near us frequently hold classes. Click on the links to go directly to their websites. Many of these facilities take interested names and fill a course when enough people express interest. Calling them to inquire is recommended.***
Mount Rainier Pool
The Mount Rainier Pool is closed for remodeling until February 2018. Please check their website after their reopening. They often hold a Spring Break class.
Federal Way Community Center
Seattle Parks and Recreation
This link for Seattle Parks and Recreation lists a number of courses beginning at various points throughout the winter and spring of 2018. Most of these courses meet weekly spread out over many weeks rather than a full week's intensive commitment. Southwest Pool in West Seattle is the closest facility to Olympic View.
Check their website frequently for updated certification courses. You can also call Matt Griffin YMCA near the airport at 206-244-5880.
Safe and Sound Swimming and Bellevue Club are two regional places that are a bit farther from the Normandy Park area, but hold classes frequently and at regular intervals.
