Groups

Teal Group  is for our youngest and newest swimmers (ages 5-7 years old.) For swimmers who have never been on a competitive team.

To participate in this group, swimmers must be able to independently swim one length of our pool in both Freestyle (Front Crawl) and Backstroke without the help of floatation.(Each length of the pool is 25 yards) This does not have to be perfect, but for Freestyle, the arms must come out of the water and the face must go into the water in some rhythmic fashion; for the Backstroke, the arms must come out of the water on rotation, the legs should be straight and kicking up and down, and the body should be comfortably lying on top of the water with the ears in the water.
· Goals: Have a good understanding of Freestyle and Backstroke and a basic understanding of Breaststroke, Butterfly and Diving

Green Group is for our younger swimmers (ages 10 and younger) who have had some swim team experience.
The swimmers in this group should be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool in both Freestyle and Backstroke.  We will work on all 4 competitive strokes, diving, relays and work on building endurance.  Swimmers will be put into lanes according to abilities.  Practices will be planned to challenge each swimmer to strengthen current skills and acquire new ones.
Goals: Build endurance and create a solid understanding of Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.

Blue Group is for our older swimmers (ages 11 and older. Younger swimmers MUST now swim in their own age group.  Space is the reason.)

The swimmers in this group must be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool without stopping.  We will work on all 4 competitive strokes as well as starts, turns, finishes and relays as well as increasing their endurance through higher workloads.

This practice group will have the largest range of abilities.  We will have some swimmers who are just starting out and will spend a lot of time focusing on strokes.  We will also have some swimmers who are very strong both with endurance and stroke skill.  For these swimmers we will focus on increasing their endurance, perfecting their swimming skills and increasing their speeds.

White Group is for our High School swimmers

The swimmers in this group must be able fully participate in practice.  We will work on all 4 competitive strokes as well as starts, turns, finishes and relays as well as increasing their endurance through higher workloads.

For swimmers on a winter high school team, our focus during the fall is to get your ready for your High School Season.
