Date: Saturday, July 25th, 2020
Below info is for 2019...2020 info to be updated as it becomes available.
- Register online as you do for a regular dual meet
- Registration deadline is Saturday, July 20th
Time: There is not an official opening time, but typically the gates are open at around 6:30AM. Coaches meeting is at 7:30 and Stroke and Turn meeting is at 7:45. The meet is scheduled to start at 8:30 and end at around 4:30.
Location: American Canyon High School, 3000 Newell Drive, American Canyon, 94503
Team Camp: Find the map for the team camps here: League Camp Map. The Stingrays have had an ideal location the previous two years, so it is our turn to be a little bit further away from the Clerk of the Course. There is no Friday set up in the camp area allowed this year.
Warm Ups: Benicia will warm up from XXXX - XXXX in lanes XXXX,
Events: Please click on the following link to access the events that Stingrays will be swimming in: League Meet Entries. Please note that relays are not yet set in stone at this point and might change before Saturday.
For families who have never attended an invitational or League Meet before, the check in process is a little different than for regular dual meets. The meet program will be available for purchase at the meet (it is not sent out ahead of time). Swimmers must check in for their swim about 15-20 minutes before their event at Clerk of the Course. This means you must be aware of who is currently swimming so you can get your swimmer to Clerk at the appropriate time. The volunteer parents at Clerk will then guide your swimmer into rows of chairs and have them sit, in order, with their heat, until it is their turn to swim. Parents are not allowed past the check in table at Clerk of the Course (but if you have little ones, you can stand outside the roped off chair area so you can still easily see them). When it is their turn to swim, the volunteer parents will then guide the swimmers onto the pool deck and get them to the appropriate lane to swim their event.
Volunteer Assignments: ALL FAMILIES (even those that bought out of their regular volunteer jobs) will be assigned a volunteer spot. The job assignments will be available later this week and will be sent out as soon as they are finalized.
Food: There will be food trucks just outside the swimming pool area
T-shirts: Shirts will be available for purchase
League Meet Power Breakfast: We still have openings available for our potluck Power Breakfast. For the last few years, we have very successfully fed the Stingray swimmers and their families breakfast before the meet. Please take a look at the sign up sheet here and sign up to bring an item. The buffet spread will be set up in the Stingray camp and swimmers can grab a bite to eat after warmups.
Swim Marshalls: A friendly reminder regarding safety at League Meet: Parents, please respect the Marshalls at the meet. The Marshalls are parent volunteers placed throughout the meet so that the swimmers can get to/from the blocks in a timely and safe manner. They are also stationed in fire lanes and by the bleachers to ensure that no one is standing in front of the bleachers impeding vision of those in the bleachers. Parents are not allowed behind the blocks. There were some issues that popped up last year, so please just treat the Marshalls with respect and understand that they are just completing their assigned job.
Pizza Pirate After the Meet: As has been tradition, we have reserved the back room of Pizza Pirate for after the meet. It is reserved at 4:30. We do not know exactly when the meet will be finished but please meet us there after the meet (after all relays and clean up are complete) for a very informal get together. Buy your own pizza and then hang out with your teammates and celebrate all of the hard work that went into the season. If they are available, ribbons and medals will be there as well. If you do not make it to Pizza Pirate, the ribbons and medals will be at the Awards Ceremony for pick up.
