Please join us in welcoming back our fantastic Head Coach Ryan Fish, Assistant Coach Sarah Woods and our new Assistant Coach Madison Whartenby.  

Our coaches encourage kids of all ages and ability to join – every swimmer is a valuable member of our team!

 

​Head Coach Ryan Fish

Ryan has been the Head Coach with Willowdale for 5 seasons and has 6 years’ experience coaching all levels of competitive swimming. He has coached at Burlington County College for the Jersey Devil Rays swim team. He also coached the Rancocas Valley Regional High School Girls Swim Team in 2011. Ryan was a competitive swimmer for Westwood Swim Club from ages 4-18 and a 4 year varsity swimmer at Rancocas Valley where he specialized in the breast stroke and individual medley. After graduating high school Ryan attended Wesley College, Dover DE and played 4 years of NCAA soccer and tennis. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is currently a health and physical education teacher as well as a USA Swimming coach for YBCC.  He enjoys spending free time with friends and his awesome dog Toby. 

 

 

​Assistant Coach Sarah Woods

Sarah grew up in Cherry Hill. She swam for Old Orchard for 13 years, and was also a swim instructor for Old Orchard’s Learn to Swim program. Sarah swam for Cherry Hill High School East for 3 years and earned varsity letters all 3 years. Sarah currently attends Messiah College where she swims for the Falcons and has helped her team win the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships for the past 3 years. This past year, Sarah earned All-MAC Second Team Honors in the 200 breaststroke, as well as All-MAC Academic Honor Roll. Sarah is excited to be joining the Willowdale coaching staff this summer and is looking forward to a great season!

 

Assistant Coach Madison Whartenby

Madison was a swimmer for 7 years at Westwood Swim Club where she finished her swimming career.  She also assisted in teaching the younger swimmers in the ripple program under head coach Allison Brick for 4 years.  She was a 3-year varsity swimmer at Rancocas Valley Regional High School where she swam freestyle.  She is currently in her Junior year of nursing school and is looking forward to graduating next spring with her RN.  In her spare time, she enjoys exercising and spending time with her family and friends.  Madison is excited to be a new coach of the Willowdale Swim Team and cannot wait to see what this season has in store!
