Practice Weather Policy

Practice Weather Policy

In the Shenandoah Valley, afternoon summer storms are frequent & often pass quickly.

We delay any announcement of postponement, or cancelation until the scheduled starting time. (We will use common sense if the storm is obviously big.)

We will alert you ASAP via Team Unify texts and/or e-mails, so please make sure you set up your account on our website to receive text alerts.

When lifeguards hear thunder, or see lightning, the pool deck must be cleared for at least 30 minutes from the most recent weather event. You child may wait out a weather delay in the Rec Center, but dry clothes are required.

If a weather delay is called, and less that 30 minutes of practice remains, practice will end at the start of the delay.

If you drop your child off for practice, please keep an eye on the weather. Please consider sticking around the pool in case practice is canceled.
