-
Respect the integrity of swim officials by assuming decisions are based on honest, objective evaluations of performance. Only coaches may approach meet officials for clarification rulings.
-
Promote good sportsmanship by setting an example and by helping others to do likewise. Sea Lions win graciously, lose graciously and congratulate their opponents win or lose.
-
Assist coaches in conducting effective practices by ensuring swimmers arrive and leave on time, and bring the proper equipment.
-
Arrive at meets in time for check in, stretching and warm-ups.
-
Assist the coaches by not talking with or motioning to swimmers during practices unless clearing it with a coach first.
-
Assist the coaches and other swimmers in reaching personal goals by behaving in an appropriate manner at all times. Behaving poorly in practices and at meets is disruptive to both teammates and coaches. If you do not wish to behave and follow the rules, reevaluation of your determination to be a part of the team is needed.
-
Respect the coaches and fellow swimmers; remember to treat others as you wish to be treated.
-
Realize that swimmers become easily confused by coaching from parents and that they benefit most from positive reinforcement of the professional coaching staff’s instructions and advice. Your unconditional love and a hug before and after races will help them best.
-
Maintain open and honest communication among all members of the Sea Lions Family. We reach our common goals by working together.
-
We are guests in all facilities we use. Follow and respect all rules and procedures of the pools we use. This includes our home pool.
-
Refrain from illegal or inappropriate behavior that detracts from a positive image of the team or is detrimental to our performance objectives.
-
Recognize that all members of the Sea Lions Family put forth their best efforts, but none of us are perfect. We look forward to constructive suggestions and recommendations made in a positive manner, at appropriate times and places, that are designed to help us improve our future performance.

Due to the dangerous nature of entering an unguarded pool, and the possible exposure to high chemical levels, any swimmer entering the lazy river during morning practices will be expelled from the team for the season.
