Learn to Row T

The Learn to Row program is an excellent opportunity for young athletes to learn and improve their skills. No experience is necessary - the coaches will teach everything a new rower needs to know to start their on the water career. Athletes will gain experience through sculling (two oars per person), land work on our ergometers (indoor rowing machines), indoor rowing tanks, on shore and on water general skills. Because athletes and families are often busy, sessions are scheduled for Monday through Friday 9am to noon. Pair with our Learn to Sail program and run 9am to 4pm with lunch provided. Athletes will also learn about the nature of the Cuyahoga River and history of the Flats as provided by the Cleveland Metroparks. Parent orientation is held during the first hour of the first session of all Learn to Row  programs. Athletes are encouraged to participate in more than one session for a more complete experience and will be prepared to participate in additional rowing opportunities in the fall with The Foundry depending upon age at the completion of this course.

Dates: All sessions are one week long Monday through Friday 9AM-12PM

Session 1: June 11-15

Session 2: June 18-22

Session 3: June 25-29

Session 4: July 9-13

Session 5: July 16-20

Session 6: July 23-27

Session 7: July 30-August 3

Cost: $250 for Learn to Row alone

*There are options to add Learn to Sail and make it a full day with The Foundry!*

Rower Training Experience

Rower Training Experience (RTX) is a non-competitive program for middle school students in which athletes have the opportunity to try the sport in a fun and safe environment. The relaxed learning environment develops skills, through land and water-based training, to be used in the competitive program.

RTX is more rigorous than our Learn to Row (LTR) program; athletes will dig deeper to find more boat speed and technical prowess and is a great stepping stone between our LTR program and the Competitive Team.

**Prerequisite: At least one Learn-to-Row session

Dates: Summer RTX is three days per-week (times & days below)

Summer Session: June 4-July 27

Practices are as follows:

Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 4:30-6:30pm
