REGION 'E' 2020 SWIM MEET SCHEDULE

During the course of a summer season, the OSSSC competes in 7 or more local swim meets within our Region 'E' district, governed by the ASSA (Alberta Summer Swim Association).

Swim meets start in June, end mid August. Location and details for each of these meets is listed below.

We recommend attending a minimum of 3 swim meets. Suggestions are:

  1. Okotoks Home Meet
  2. Regionals Swim Meet
  3. One additional meet of your choosing. Speak to your coach apon their recommendations

 

Didsbury (June 6th)

Location: Didsbury Aqautic Centre, 1702 21st Avenue, Didsbury.

Swimmer set up is in the adjacent hockey arena. Temperature is cool, you will need to bring your own seating.

 

Cochrane (June 13st​)

Location: Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, 800 Griffin Road East, Cochrane

Swimmer set up is in the adjacent hockey arena. Temperature is cool, you will need to bring your own seating.

 

Okotoks (June 19th - 20th)

Location: Okotoks Recreation Centre

Swimmer setup in curling rink, need to bring your own seating.

 

High River (June 26th - 27th)

Location: Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex,  228, 12th Avenue SE, High River.

Swimmer set up is in the adjacent hockey rink. Temperature is cool, you will need to bring your own seating.

 

Calgary Tritons (July 11th)

Location: Repsol Centre (formerly Tallisman Centre), 2225 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary.

Swimmers set up is down on the pool side, and no spectators will be allowed on the pool deck. We have 2 team chaperones stay on deck with team. Please ensure your swimmer is self sufficient for the meet (clothing, snacks, etc), as there is limited communication between the spectating areas and the swimmers on the pool deck.

If you have a younger swimmer (under 8) and have concerns over their safety or ability to be truly self sufficient, volunteering to help chaperone is a great way to be down on the pool deck, helping not only your child but the other young swimmers.

Canmore (July 18th)

Location: Elevation Place, 700 Railway Avenue, Canmore.

Limited parking available.

Swimmer set up - is in a designated rooms/space in the facility. Weather permitting, plan on setting up outside if possible (i.e. bring a shade tent).

GoodEarth cafe on site.

Book accommodations in May, Car-camping in near parking lots has been accepted in the past.

 

Calgary Swordfish (July 25th ​)

Location: Brookfield Residential YMCA in Seton,

4995 Market St SE

Swimmer set up is in the adjacent hockey arena. Temperature is cool, you will need to bring your own seating.

 

Regionals (open to all swimmers with the exception of exhibition swimmers)

(August 8th - 9th)

Please ensure your swimmer is self sufficient for the meet (clothing, snacks, etc), as there is limited communication between the spectating areas and the swimmers on the pool deck.

Strict policy enforced on swim gear + food on deck ONLY. No beds, chairs, sleeping bags etc.
