GENERAL VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT ($250 penalty fee per family)
Parent Volunteers are a vital part of OSSSC – the club is run 100% by volunteers and without each family stepping up we would not be able to succeed.
The number of volunteer points required is based upon the Group your swimmer is allocated to. If you have more than one swimmer, you are required to achieve the points for the highest group your children are registered into. If your family fails to meet their allotted general volunteer points by the end of the season, you will be charged the $250 penalty fee.
The points requirement for the 2019 season are as follows:
PUPS 10 points
BULL RAYS 15 points
LEOPARD RAYS 25 points
EAGLE RAYS 25 points
MANTA RAYS 25 points
Ways to acquire volunteer points:
- join the board of directors
- attend the parent meeting at the beginning of the season
- take on a specific volunteer role (ie. photo coordinator, casino coordinator)
- volunteer at our Okotoks Swim Meet (ie. food manager, timer, ribbons coordinator)
- volunteer at another swim meet (ie. timer, stroke and turn judge, food runner)
Volunteer Job Descriptions
The volunteer positions, along with their associated points and a detailed description, can be found by clicking on the Registration Information tab, then choosing Volunteer Job Descriptions on the drop down menu.
For more information on club specific volunteer roles, please contact any of the Board of Directors and they will happily discuss it with you.
Okotoks Swim Meet Volunteer Positions (June 19th/20th)
The Okotoks Swim Meet volunteer roles are specific to our own meet. To sign up for any roles, please visit the Event Signup tab and you will be able to volunteer for individual jobs by shifts (Friday afternoon, Saturday AM, Saturday PM) closer to the date of the meet.
If you are attending the Okotoks Swim Meet you are required to complete 2 volunteer shifts/swim family.
Away Swim Meet Volunteer Positions, Including Regionals
There will be opportunities to volunteer and officiate at other meets during the season, managed by our Officials Coordinator. In order to volunteer for these roles, please visit the Events Signup tab closer to the date of the meet.
Please plan to volunteer for at least one shift over the course of the meet. Priority will go to members pursuing an officials designation (ei: timer, stroke n turn judge)
Please note that for away swim meets, signing up to volunteer is not a guarantee that you will be selected by the other swim team to volunteer. We are granted a minimum of 3 volunteer shifts for away swim meets. We are provide a list of available volunteers and the Meet Manager makes the final selection.
If you are attending Regionals, you are required to complete 1 volunteer shift.
