Preble County YMCA Piranhas 5 year vision 11-17-2014
The Piranhas will be established as a long distance freestyle team 500 yard plus and a 200 IM team.
The team provides a positive environment for all level of swimmers and we have a 95 percent return rate with a team size of 120+ kids from age 4 to age 18.
The team will have had one or more swimmers get a college scholarship for swimming.
Maintain the practice schedule at 5 days a week with the national group doing additional hours of practice Monday thru Friday.
Everyone one that has been in the program for at least 2 years and is the age of 9 has swam 500 freestyle and a 200 IM event in a meet.
Everyone will make the AA meet that has been on the team for 2 years and is 9 years old.
A summer long course team has been established and we are doing at least 3 long course meets a year.
Have swimmers on course to make the Olympic trials in 2020.
Dual affiliated team with USA swimming and YMCA swimming. USA would be a volunteer option for the swimmers.
We have establish one meet that we host every year in the winter league and if the new pool is built one long course meet will be held during the summer months.
At least 3 Preble County high schools have established swimming in the High School program in conjunction with the Piranhas winter team.
Plans are in place to add a therapeutic pool on the north side of the current pool location with at least 3 lane 25 meter pool and 1 meter diving board.
