Telluride Telemark Team

Enjoying the lowest coach to athlete ratio of any TSSC program, The Big Mountain Telemark Team gives kids from 4th to 12th grade an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the telemark turn and build the skills to become an all-mountain telemark powerhouse! Head coach, Emma Christensen, (PSIA Top Level Tele Certified) focuses on individual skill development within a positive and supportive learning environment. Throughout the season there will be skill specific training's based in experiential learning and having a great deal of fun!

  1. Big Mountain Development Team (4-6 grade): Saturdays 9:15-2:30 and Wednesdays for Ski P.E. Specific skills: fundamentals of the telemark stance, progression based training's to create dynamic turns in variable snow and terrain, and big mountain terrain awareness with an emphasis on team camaraderie and goal-oriented training's.

  2. Big Mountain Telemark Team Team (7-12 grade): Sundays from 9:15-2:30 and Thursdays and Fridays for Ski P.E., and 2 training days for Christmas Camp, December 21, and 28th. We will also travel to the Free Heel World Cup held annually in Grand Targhee. Specific skills: skiing steeps and trees, big mountain terrain awareness, moguls and line choice with an emphasis on team camaraderie and goal-oriented training's.

PLEASE NOTE USSA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED:  All Athletes need to have current USSA Membership, minimum participants level, if your child will be competing they will need a competitors license, and it will be checked.
