2018-2019 WSA Board of Directors
Our goal is to make your WSA experience the best it can be!
President and Treasurer
Jason is a Professor of Molecular Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and his NIH-funded research program has focused on diabetes and obesity for more than 25 years. He serves on the MD/PhD Admissions Committee and has been involved in the medical school admissions since he was a professor at Yale and Penn State. He is also an Adjunct Investigator of Joslin Diabetes Center at Harvard Medical School and an Adjunct Professor of Seoul National University in South Korea.
Outside of work, he enjoyed coaching his 2 daughters’ (Allison & Lauren) town soccer and basketball teams for 7 years, and he is an avid swimmer and a huge fan of operas and college football. He grew up in West Los Angeles, met his wife Jayne at UC Irvine, and has lived in Wellesley for 10 years.
Cass is a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist at Atrius Health. She grew up in the Boston area and is a New England fan. She is married to Bryan who is from Los Angeles. They do not watch sports together. They have three children: Grace (13), Ava (11), and Brendan (3). This year will be Grace's 4th year at WSA.
Travel and food are her passion. Every destination is planned around experiencing local cuisine. Her favorite vacation spots so far are Singapore, Malaysia, and Amalfi Coast.
Ephi has a ScD in Mechanical Engineering, currently working for Medtronic as a SW quality manager. She has over 20 years of Medical Device experience from orthopedic devices, robotics, imaging, artificial heart, accident reconstruction, and more.
She was a swimmer during her early school years, but at this point in time, her kids are faster than her! She is a proud mother of three WSA swimmers and has been involved with the team for the past 7 years. She grew up in Israel, served in the Israeli Military, and moved to the US over 25 years ago. She is married to Sheldon whom she met in Iowa, and has loved in Wellesley for the past 12 years.

Volunteer Shift Director
Michelle is a new member of the WSA Board of Directors this year. Michelle and her husband Rick have lived in Needham since 2010. Michelle is mom to Meredith (9) and RJ (7), although Meredith is her only WSA swimmer. Meri swam for the 8&U group last year for her first year and had a wonderful experience.
Michelle worked as an HR business partner and in talent acquisition in her professional life, and currently volunteers for her kids' school, as a coach for her kids' sports teams and for several area non-profits and charities. She was impressed last year by the leadership and organization of the Wellesley Swim Association and is excited to take on a larger volunteer role this year.
Tom is the founder of ClearView Retail, an application developer for retail merchandising services.
He and his wife Michelle have lived in Needham since 2002. They have two WSA swimmers (Kate and Maggie). His third daughter (Annie) is trying out for the team this year. Tom has completed numerous marathons and triathlons, but getting his girls to practice on time is his greatest athletic achievement.
Tara is a past WSA president, and has two children on the team (Sam, 10 and Avery, 7). She and her husband, John, recently welcomed a baby boy, Henry, to their family.
As the former Director of Events at Harvard Kennedy School, Tara managed the visits of heads of state and other political figures as well as the school’s fundraisers and alumni events.
Tara is an active volunteer in the community. She currently serves on the Hunnewell Elementary School PTO board. As a member of the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club, Tara was actively involved with the Wellesley Food Pantry and A Better Chance. She co-chaired Wellesley Marketplace and was the Advertising Chair for the Wellesley Kitchen Tour. She was also the Events Director and Membership Director for the Wellesley Mothers Forum.
Tara loves to snuggle her new baby and watch her kids play sports. WSA has played a significant role in teaching her children the importance of hard work and team collaboration.
