2019 & 2020 CCR Middle School Programs

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

MIDDLE SCHOOL FALL ROWING

It is time to register for our Fall Middle School Rowing Programs!  

The Fall Middle School Rowing Program will have two options this year! First is an eight-week on the water program. Second is our five-week land training program.

Fall On-The-Water:

  • Middle School rowers will practice from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • September 9 - October 31, 2019 
  • 6th – 8th graders practice:
    • Monday & Wednesday at Lake Hall  

                          -OR-

    • Tuesday & Thursday at Lake Hall
  • Returning Middle School rowers (those who have competed in the 2018/2019 season or pending coaches approval) will have a Friday practice at Lake Hall.
  • Each session is capped at 27 participants

Fall Land Training:

  • Middle School rowers will practice from 5:00  – 6:30 p.m.
  • November 4 - December 13 (No Practice 11/25-11/28)
  • 6th – 8th graders practice:
    •  Monday & Wednesday OR Tuesday & Thursday at Meridian Park
  • Each session is capped at 20 participants due to equipment 

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL 2020 ROWING

The Winter and Spring Middle School Rowing Program will have two options this year! First is a five-week on the erg and land program. Second is our seven-week Spring competitive program.

Winter Erg:

  • Middle School rowers will practice from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
  • January 8, 2020 - February 7, 2020 
  • 6th – 8th graders practice:
    • Monday & Wednesday at Meridian Park 

                          -OR-

    • Tuesday & Thursday at Meridian Park
  • Each session is capped at 20 participants
  • 5-week land and erg conditioning program for middle school students. The 5-week winter erg program culminates in an optional 2-day trip to Melbourne, Florida to compete in the Southern Sprints Indoor Regatta.  

MS Spring Competitive Rowing:

  • Middle School rowers will practice from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  • February 10, 2020 - March 27, 2020 
  • 6th – 8th graders practice:
    • Specific practice locations and times TBD. Monday - Thursday practices. Two water sessions, two land sessions. 
  • Middle School rowers will join High School rowers and compete at Florida Scholastic Rowing Associations North Florida Championship in Jacksonville, Fla. 

 

 


Dues and Fees:

Middle School Rowers: 

  • A one-time yearly registration fee of $199. 
  • Fall On-The-Water: Dues are $425 for 2 days per week, and $475 for 3 days per week. Includes park admission pass. You may choose to pay a single one-time payment or two equal monthly payments.  
  • Fall Erg Program: Dues are $225 
  • Winter Erg Program: Dues are $225. Option to race at SSIR fee of $200
  • Spring Competitive: Dues are $650
 

Practice Location:

Water Practices are held at Maclay Gardens State Park on beautiful Lake Hall.

Land Practices are held at Meridian Park Sports Complex.

When you enter, follow the fence line around the soccer and 
baseball fields. The erg home is located toward the exit of the park.
 

**Important**

Receipt of the signed Maclay Gardens Use of Facilities Agreement & a current Annual Physical Form signed by a physician is required to complete registration.

Park passes will be issued to all registered rowers.

Required Forms: 

There are 5 waivers included in the registration that will be signed electronically.  

Additionally, there are 2 forms that you MUST print and return to complete your registration (see below).

These forms can either be scanned and emailed to Administration@capitalcityrowing.org or mailed to 1400 Village Square, #3-310, Tallahassee, FL 32312.
