Founder of Royal Swim Team and Head Coach
Val Bagri graduated from University of Physical Culture in Ukraine with master's degree in Physical Education, specializing in swimming. Also, completed two years of Physiology, Sport Medicine and Biomechanics of Competitive Swimming Strokes School.
Val is a former national swimmer for A.C.Monaco, C.N.Paris clubs in France, and Dinamo club in Ukraine. He has over 20 years of professional swimming. Val was a finalist at International Mare Nostrum swim meets: Monte Carlo, Canet, Barcelona, and Rome (100 & 200 Breaststroke). Also, Val was a finalist of the World Cup in Paris and French Championships. Val became Gold medalist at French Cup meet in 2000 (50, 100, 200 Breaststroke).
Has over 20 years of coaching experience. In 2010, Val was selected to be a coach for Southern California Pacific Coast All Star Team. Achievements during coaching: Olympic Trials, National, Junior National and Junior Olympics swimmers.
For the past ten years Val has completely dedicated himself to Royal Swim Team since it was founded in 2005. He coaches Junior National and Sectional groups at Culver City Plunge, and provides stroke clinics at all locations.
At 2014 Spring Nationals, U.S. Masters Swimming in Santa Clara, CA Val has proudly represented Royal Swim Team and became a national champion, gold medalist 50 breaststroke 26.58, and silver medalist 100 breaststroke 57.45.
At 2014 U.S. Masters Swimming Summer Nationals in Maryland Val became gold medalist in both 50 meters breaststroke 30.32 and 100 meters breaststroke 1:07.82.
At 2015 Spring Nationals, U.S. Masters Swimming in San Antonio, TX Val has proudly represented Royal Swim Team and became a silver medalist 200 breaststroke 2:05.46, and bronze medalist 100 breaststroke 56.81 and 50 breaststroke 26.31.
At 2017 Spring Nationals, U.S. Masters Swimming in Riverside, CA Val has proudly represented Royal Swim Team and became a gold medalist 200 breaststroke 2:07.78, and 100 breaststroke 56.68, and silver medalist 50 breaststroke 26.15.
At 2017 World Masters Championship in Budapest, Hungary Val has proudly represented USA and Royal Swim Team and became a silver medalist 100 breaststroke 1:07.42
Val is married, and has a nine years old son Nicholas who is also swimming at Royal swim team.
