The ZAP coaching team takes a "prehab vs. rehab" approach to developing swimmers, and we take it seriously. Thanks to Dr. Ja'nae Brown, DPT, our Premier team employs a developmentally-appropriate prehab "dryland" program developed especially for our swimmers and team structure.
In this program, a myriad of exercises and movements that develop strength and muscle endurance, and are invaluable to aquatic athletes, are learned and mastered. Each piece of the program leads to the next so we meet each athlete where they are and then help take them to the next level.
All practices will begin with prehab work, so swimmers are expected to arrive at practice early to stretch and dressed in comfortable "workout" attire, including closed-toed athletic shoes and socks.
