Lenoir City 2 Day Group

Effective January 3rd, 2017, ACAC is happy to announce a new practice group for middle or high school swimmers who wish improve their conditioning either above the level they are experiencing now, or beyond the end of the season.  We will welcome new swimmers, most of whom are already familiar with the Lenoir City facility to join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30PM.  Our coaches will evaluate their conditioning, but most will be practicing from approximately 5:30-7:00, with a few more experienced/better conditioned/older swimmers practicing until 7:30, or a few less experienced swimmers practicing until 6:45.

Your swimmers will be training along side our ACAC swimmers.  The intensity of the workout is notably greater, they can expect to swim about 2-3 times as many yards as a typical middle school practice.  Due to the smaller team size, they can expect much less congestion in the lanes, as well.

This practice group will be offered from January through February.  If there is enough interest, we will offer the group upon our return in early April until the Summer.  The cost for this group will be $50/month, with a one time USA Swimming charge of $35 (noting this is required for ACAC's liability).  If your swimmer enjoys participation, they can join ACAC full time at any point in time.  Doing so will open up more practice opportunities, as well as afford them the opportunity to swim in meets with us.

Some questions you may have.  This participation will not affect your eligibility for the Smokey Mountain Invitational (this applies only to swimmers who have competed in a USA Swimming meet).  We will accept swimmers at any point; however, they will benefit more if they begin earlier.  If they participate in the ACAC practices, most middle and high school coaches will allow that practice to suffice (please confirm with your coach).  Your swimmer will need to bring fins and a kickboard for training.
