Team Structure
 
 
Bronze Group
Suggested Age Guidelines: 7-10 years of age
Minimum Requirement: 50 yards/meters freestyle
50 yards/meters backstroke
25 yards/meters fly or breast
Practice Requirements:  At least 2 practices each week
Practice Times: Tuesday through Thursday 6:00-7:00 pm Friday 5:00-6:00 pm
 
Bronze II group members continue to focus on increasing their technical stroke base, including starts and turns.  As a member of this group a swimmer should compete in at least one meet each year.  This group is a great way to compete and have fun!
To advance to Silver I, a swimmer must legally complete in competition, 100 yards/meters IM in under 2:00 and 200 yards/meters freestyle including flip turns, in under 3:30.
Advancement into the next group is at the discretion of the coach.
 
 
Silver I Group
Suggested Age Guidelines:  8-12 years of age
Minimum Requirement: Legal 100 IM in competition under 2:00
200 Free with turns in competition under 3:30
Practice Requirements: At least 3 practices each week
Practice Times: Monday through Thursday 6:00-7:00 pm
Saturday 10:00-11:00 am
 
As a member of the Silver I group, swimmers will continue refining mechanics and technique in all four strokes.  They will be introduced to endurance and sprint training and will start to learn how to read a pace clock.  Swimmers in this group should participate in 2 to 4 meets every year. 
To advance to Silver II group a swimmer must be able to complete the following:
10 X 100 free on 1:45 with flip turns and streamlines.
3 X 200 IM on 4:00 with legal strokes and turns.
Advancement into the next group is at the discretion of the coach.
 
 
 
Silver II Group
Suggested Age Guidelines: 9-13 years of age
Minimum Requirement: 10 X 100 free on 1:45 with turns & streamline
3 X 200 IM on 4:00 with legal strokes & turns
At least 2 swim meets within the last 12 months as a member of Silver I
Practice Requirements: Start with at least 3 practices each week and work up to 4
Practice Times: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 4:00-5:15 pm, Tuesday/Thursday 4:00-6:00 pm, Saturday 9:00-10:00 am.
 
 
In this group it is important for the athletes to focus on maintaining proper technique as the amount of endurance training increases.  Swimmers should continue to develop in all strokes in competition especially their off events.  Athletes will start learning about goal setting and reading a pace clock unassisted.  Participation in 5-8 swim meets each year is recommend with at least one meet each year being out of town. 
To advance to Gold group a swimmer must be able to complete the following:
12 X 100 free on 1:35 with turns and streamline.
4 X 200 IM on 3:40 with legal strokes and turns.
At least 4 in-town and 1 out-of-town swim meets within the last 12 months.
Advancement into the next group is at the discretion of the coach.
 
 
Gold Group
Suggested Age Guidelines: 11-14 years of age
Minimum Requirement: 12 X 100 free on 1:35 with turns & streamline
4 X 200 IM on 3:40 with legal strokes & turns
At least 4 in-town and 1 out-of-town meets within the last 12 months as a member of Silver II
Practice Requirements: At least 5 practices each week
Practice Times: Tuesday/Thursday (dryland) 3:30-4:15 pm 
Monday through Thursday  4:00- 6:00-pm, Friday 4:00-5:30 pm, Saturday 9:00-11:00 am
 
 
As part of this group, athletes will start working on higher intensities and put in higher quality workouts.  Swimmers will be introduced to race strategy and start being held more accountable for and in their workouts.  Swimmers will also start doing some age specific dry land before practices a couple of times each week.  All children in this group should be able to read a pace clock on their won.  Swimmers should compete in 4-5 meets in short course season and 4-5 meets in the long course season with a goal of qualifying and competing in Southeastern Championships.
The minimum requirements for a simmer to advance to the Senior group is:
5 X 300 free on 4:15 with turns and streamline
6 X 200 IM on 3:15 with legal stroke and turns
At least 4 in-town and 1 out-of-town swim meets within the last 6 months.
Advancement into the next group is at the discretion of the coach.
