SELECTION TO THE TEAM
The team will be comprised of the following number of swimmers per age group.
11-12’s 13-14’s 15-16’s Seniors
up to 4 girls & 4 boys up to 4 girls & 4 boys up to 4 girls & 4 boys up to 4 girls & 4 boys
Once the team is selected, if a swimmer selected is unable to attend, the committee will choose the next highest ranked swimmer who has applied.
The 11-12 age group will use top times in the 500yd and 1,000yd freestyle. The 13-14’s, 15-16’s, and Senior age groups will use the top swims in the 1,000yd and 1,650yd freestyle events. These swims will be based on the Age Group Power Point System, calculated by Hy-Tek Meet Manager. We will accept scores for the two (2) events if each event scores the minimum 650 power points. We will also consider a swimmer who has the minimum point value in one (1) of the events. No swimmer with point values less than 650 in these events will be considered. Swimmers will be ranked (by age group/gender) using the Power Point system.
EX 1: If a 13yr old female scores a 720 in the 1,000yd freestyle, but scores a 630 in the 1,650yd freestyle, then the only time that will “score” for consideration on the zone team will be for the 1,000yd freestyle event. Therefore her total points for consideration are 720.
EX 2: If a swimmer who is 11yrs old scores a 700 in the 500yd freestyle and 680 in the 1,000 freestyle, then that swimmer’s combined score will be 1,380 power points, because he scores the minimum required in each event.
