Group 2 - Coach - Alec Murphy-Abrams
Daily Training: 60 - 90 minutes, 5 times per week
Attendance: Strongly encouraged to attend at least 4 times per week
Practice Times: Mon-Friday 3:45 - 5:00 PM
Goals: The goals for Group 2 are primarily to build upon the foundations of Group 1 and begin to prepare athletes for the more strenuous demands of Group 3. Athletes will continue to maximize their technical focus with an attention to more specific details. The primary "training" element to this group is geared toward an ability to focus for longer periods of time, to begin to gain a stronger command of their motor abilities, and to become proficient at underwater work, body position, stroke timing, and kicking. Athletes in this group must have a solid ability to perform four legal strokes, and execute proficient starts, turns, and finishes.
Admittance Requirements: Athletes in this group must have a solid ability to perform four legal strokes, execute proficient starts, turns, and finishes, and have a qualifying time for Junior Olympics (9-10 years old). Additionally, Coach discretion is the primary factor for admittance to this group.
