Attendance Recommendations

Please remember, these are general guidelines meant to help you, your swimmer and your coach work toward achieving that which you and your swimmer wish to achieve by swimming with DART Swimming. Please talk with your coach about your individual situation and make sure the anticipated schedule supports the swimmer’s stated goals.

Consistency and regularity in training over the long run will benefit your swimmer the most.

Purple           

  • 2 days - keeps general skills practiced
  • 3 days - recommended for progress
  • 4-5 days - excellent progress and skills acquisition

Gold                

  • 3 days - keeps general skills practiced, some improvement
  • 4 days - recommended for progress, skills acquisition, development of team/group identity
  • 4-5 days - excellent progress, skills acquisition and strong team/group identity

Maroon           

  • 3 days - keeps general skills practiced, some improvement 
  • 4-5 days - recommended for progress, skills acquisition, development of team/group identity
  • 5-6 days - excellent progress, skills acquisition and strong team/group identity

Pre-Senior      

  • 4 days - keeps general skills practiced, some improvement 
  • 5-6 sessions - recommended for progress, skills acquisition, development of team/group identity
  • 6-7 sessions - excellent progress, skills acquisition and strong team/team identity

Senior II         

  • 4-5 days - recommended for progress, skills acquisition, development of team/group identity
  • 6-9 sessions - excellent progress, skills acquisition and strong team/team identity
  • Generally, 75% minimum attendance is recommended
  • Those who play a second sport should consult with their coach regarding optimal schedule

Senior I          

  • Generally, minimum attendance of 90% per month is highly recommended

 

In our age-group program: For those kids whose only sport is swimming, consistent attendance rate of 85-100% is recommended and encouraged.
