Voltage Aquatics Swim Meet Progression
Meets are very important to the progression and success of youth swimmers. It helps them set goals, build confidence, learn to race, and work hard at practice. This progression helps you climb the steps in Snake River Swimming, the Western Zone, and the Country! Each Level is a great achievement and is one step closer to your dreams!
INVITATIONALS: are swim meets for all levels that allow swimmers to race new events and mark their season progress. Swim at these meets to earn times for championships. Some have time standards to enter and others are NTS (not time standard) and open to all
SNAKE RIVER (LSC) CHAMPIONSHIPS: This is our local Championship meet! It is held twice a year (Yards in February and Meters in July). This is one of the first Qualifying meet your swimmer will attend! This is a team scored event, so every swimmer contributes!
AGE GROUP REGIONALS: This meet is open to all ages and has about AA – AAA time standard! The Meet is held in Federal Way, Washington and is the first high level competition that swimmers experience!
AGE GROUP ZONES: This is a 14 and under meet where swimmers compete under the Snake River Swimming banner instead of their own team! It is a great experience that helps swimmers progress up the competitive ladder.
SENIOR ZONES: This is a 14 and Over meet where swimmers compete under the Snake River banner instead of their own team! It is a great experience that helps swimmers progress up the competitive ladder.
SPEEDO SENIOR SECTIONALS: has only one set of qualifying times for all ages, approximately in the USA Swimming 17-18-year-old 'AAA' to 'AAAA' range. There are eleven Sectional meets across the country, and it is the first step towards national-level swimming. Sectionals is swam in yards in March and meters in July.
FURTURE CHAMPIONSHIPS: a meet between Sectionals and Junior Nationals swum in Long Course only. This is an added stepping stone to help senior swimmers reach JR nationals.
SPEEDO JR. NATIONALS: is an 18&Under national swimming championship, swam in December (yards) and August (meters).
SENIOR NATIONALS: Is the fastest meet in the country, before Olympic Trials. Nationals are the USA Swimming championships, and are swam in December and August.
OLYMPIC TRIALS: is the selection meet for the USA Swimming Olympic team, held every four years. The top USA Swimming Olympic team. The top two finishers in each individual event go to the Olympics. Swimmers must qualify for the meet with a long-course time.
OLYMPICS: Held every four years. Swimmers represent their country not their teams! The super bowl of swimming.
