Volunteer Hours

SSCD Volunteerism:

Work share by family members of the Dolphins is a critical role that makes the South Snohomish County Dolphins operate successfully.

Although the day-to-day management is headed by the Program Director/Head Coach, members from many of the families are involved in governance via a volunteer Board of Directors. As your child develops in competitive swimming, the club will look for your ideas and support in this vital volunteer role. Serving on the Board of Directors is a rewarding way to stay involved with your child's swimming and have a hands-on role in governance of the team.

Most parents, however, will need to serve the team by completing their required volunteer hours during the three SSCDhosted meets. There are dozens of ways that parents can be involved during the meets. From timer to concessions, from ribbons to being the meet referee, there is the perfect job for you!

The bottom line is that we can't run this team without you!

These volunteer points (one point = 1 session worked at a meet, i.e.- timing for one full session = 1 point) will need to be completed during SSCD's three hosted meets. For most groups this averages to 2 points (or sessions worked) per meet, and 2 (1 for Red/Purple) of these points MUST be completed at the LaFave Long Course meet.

Families who do not complete their minimum required points by May 1st (the last day of the Dick LaFave LC Kick Off meet), will be assessed a $100 fee for each point that was not completed.

Meet volunteer sign up is a part of our website system. Please go to "job sign up" for each meet and select your volunteer position for the meet.

Some jobs require special certification (ie "Stroke and Turn" judge, Starter, etc.). If you are not certified in these jobs but would like to be, please contact the Program Director and/or click here for the PNS Certification requirements.

Your Service Points will be posted within 2 weeks after hosted meets.
