Meet the Coaches of Life Time Swim at the Rim
Coach Bill Thomas (Regional Head Coach): ASCA Level 4
Coach Thomas brings over 40 years of experience in coaching swimming at all levels to Lifetime. During that time he has produced numerous nationally ranked age-group swimmers, over 200 high school and collegiate All-Americans, High School, Junior National and National Champions, U.S. Olympic Trials qualifiers and National Team members as well as several foreign Olympians. He is a Life Member of the American Swimming Coaches Association and certified as an ASCA Level 4 Coach, which is the top 15% of all coaches. As an athlete, he competed for 12 years, was a High School State Champion, Collegiate All-American and National Qualifier. He holds a Master of Science degree in Education and is a published author, having written dozens of articles on coaching and leadership.
Marisa Olmo (Assistant Coach): ASCA Level 1
Coach Marisa was a competitive swimmer for 14 years here in San Antonio. She swam at O'Connor High School where she was an All-Region swimmer and All-State water polo player. Marisa then went on to swim NCAA at Trinity University where she was an All-Conference swimmer. She has been coaching for the last 2 years.
Greg Treadway (Assistant Coach): ASCA Level 3
Coach Treadway started coaching as a senior in high school starting a novice team for the club he swam for St. Paul Park Sharks, today Southeast Metro Sharks. In College he started his own teams in Hudson Wisconsin, Hudson Area Swimming Association, and the Hudson High School Swimming teams, boys and girls. His high school swimmers over the years had several high school state qualifiers and champions. Coach Treadway has been coaching in Texas since 1989. In Texas he has been with Northside ISD and Alamo Area Aquatics Association, Palo Alto Community College and in Dallas with Texins Swimming Team. At Palo Alto and in Dallas he started his own teams. He enjoys the teaching of his athletes and believes technique is the biggest key to their success.
Coach Will Scofield (Assistant Coach): ASCA Level 3
Scofield began his coaching career with George Block and Bill Thomas while he earned his undergraduate degree from UTSA. For his post-graduate work, Scofield earned a Masters in Exercise Physiology at Indiana University while working and coaching with the councilman Center for the Science of Swimming. He then returned to San Antonio to coach at Brennan High School. Scofield was a 5-time District and Regional Coach of the Year as a Head Coach at Brennan and is currently a Level 3 ASCA certified coach.
Marion Mulligan-Tyler (Assistant Coach): ASCA Level 1
Coach Marion works to provide all of our athletes with a strong foundation of correct biomechanics. She also strives to share the excitement and energy of discovery, to enrich their love of the sport & to have fun while learning. As a coach she encourages athletes to challenge their own perceptions and limits, and empowers them with knowledge and confidence to achieve their goals. She started teaching swim lessons before she could drive and has been working with swimmers ever since.
Caroline Herrera (Assistant Coach): ASCA Level 1
Coach Caroline began swimming competitively for USA Swimming at the age of 9 through her senior year in high school. She was awarded the All American Athlete and qualified for STAGS, TAGS and Sectionals. She received her bachelor’s of science at the University of A&M San Antonio with a minor in Education. She began coaching in 2015 as a ASCA certified coach. She is also an Aquatics Supervisor for Life Time Fitness at the Rim.
