For those who are already registered with AquaTex there is nothing more to do. Just show up for practice. For newcomers, you can try two practices at no cost after which you must register via the club's Team Unify site.
Club fees are used for coaching, pool rental and registration fees for all practices. Upon registration you will be billed automatically on a monthly basis. Our fees are the most competitive in Texas: $60/month plus annual membership fee of $50. Current members of AquaTex Swim Team pay a reduced rate.
Practice Schedule & Requirements
The team practices year-round at Micki Krebsbach pool in Round Rock. As of January 2018 the schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 to 9:00 PM; Saturdays, 9:30 AM to noon. See the water polo calendar for the most accurate practice schedule. All athletes will practice together. To play in tournaments or game days an athlete is required to attend at least two practices a week.
Tournaments & Game Days
AquaTex is a member of the Lone Star League, a group of clubs located in Central Texas which hosts local tournaments each season. There is a fee of $10 per athlete to participate in each Game Day to cover league registration and pool fees. We will increasingly participate in USA Water Polo tournaments throughout Texas and hopefully beyond. The flat rate to participate in a USAWP "travel" tournament is $45.
USA Water Polo Membership
All AquaTex athletes are required to be members of USA Water Polo. Be sure you are signed up and are affiliated with AquaTex Swim Team Water Polo #24177.
The website (AquaTexWaterpolo.com) is used to manage rosters, billing, communications, registration, tournaments. It has an email communications module so it is imperative that families monitor email from coaches. Also, please make sure all your contact information is correct in your profile including your mobile phone so we can utilize the SMS feature. As a courtesy we also use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and GroupMe to communicate and promote the club.
Families are expected to help with tournament setup, desk work, concessions, promotions, and more during competitions hosted at our home pool. Our Events team will be in contact with you.
Olympic Development Program (ODP)
Players wanting additional training can participate in USA Water Polo’s Olympic Development Program. Coach James is the Head Coach of the boys in the Southwest Zone. For more information see the ODP Southwest Zone site.
AquaTex Waterpolo Gear
The Gear Stores open at certain intervals throughout the year. See the Gear page to get suits and shirts to support your team. Our athletes are required to wear team suits at games. You are welcome/encouraged to wear them at practice too.
To be sure all of our players are water-safe, new players must be able to swim 50 yards and tread water for four minutes with his chin above the water.
Participation in AquaTex Water Polo is an obligation to your teammates and a commitment to each of their individual opportunities for development, as well as to your team and to yourself. AquaTex coaches understand that the club's players are active and involved in many diverse and challenging activities, and we understand that conflicts may arise. We are committed to the development of well-rounded young athletes, so we understand when conflicts occasionally interfere with AquaTex events. In recognition of the commitment that our players have made to their teammates, all players and their parents should consider every practice, game and tournament to be as important to their teammates’ development as to their own.
