Regional Diversity Performance Workshop - Applications open Feb 22 - Mar 22, 2021
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 USA Swimming Zone Select and Regional Diversity Select Camps will be canceled. In lieu of these absent programs, USA Swimming is announcing the Zone Select Performance Workshop and the Regional Diversity Performance Workshop to continue providing opportunities for our athletes at the age-group level. Dates for these events will be announced soon.
Selections for the Zone Select Performance Workshop will be conducted automatically through the SWIMS database and selected participants will be contacted directly. Selections for the Regional Diversity Performance Workshop will be conducted via an online application that will be open February 22 through March 22 and will be available on the Regional Diversity Select Camps’ page.

National Diversity Select Camp Applications open from Jan 15-Feb 19, 2021
USA Swimming invites 56 athletes from underrepresented populations to participate in a three-day camp program which includes pool training, motivational and education sessions and team-building activities. Selection is based on times swum at USA Swimming sanctioned events.
The camp is sponsored annually to empower athletes from diverse backgrounds and under-represented populations to:
- Demonstrate the viability of multicultural success in swimming
- Achieve performance excellence at every level of the sport
- Expound the benefits and value of participating in the sport of swimming
- Be positive leaders and role models that others from multicultural backgrounds can emulate.
The criteria and application will be available on this page from January 15-February 19, 2021.
The National Diversity Select Camp for athletes ages 14-16 (as of May 7, 2020) and who meet the eligiblity requirements and time standards for ethnically underrepresented populations will be held May 7-10, 2020 at the Olympic Training Center. Applications will be accepted on the USA Swimming website until February 7. 2019 Southern Zone Diversity and Inclusion Camp
South Texas athletes and coaches are attending the 2019 Southern Zone Diversity and Inclusion Camp at the University of South Carolina this week - June 13-16.
2017 Southern Zone Diversity and Inclusion Select Camp and Summit - Applications Are Open
South Texas is accepting applications for the 2017 Southern Zone Select Camp, which is being held June 22-25 in Charlotte, NC.
There will be at least one male and one female athlete selected from each LSC in the Southern Zone. With this being our third SZ select camp, we are expecting 30+ athletes along with other coaches and managers as we work more closely with the national committee for the camp and summit.

National Diversity Select Camp Applications Are Open
USA Swimming is now accepting applications for the National Diversity Select Camp begin held May 4-7 at the US Olympic Training Center (OTC), in Colorado Springs, CO. USA swimming will select 48 athletes for the program. South Texas has a history of athletes being selected for the camp. Applications are also open for Assistant Coach and Assistant Manager.
The deadline for applications is February 10, 2017.
Diversity and Inclusion Camp Progression
USA Swimming offers Diversity and Inclusion camp opportunities within the LSC, at the Zone level, and at the National level. The progression from LSC to National camps offers athletes the chance to train with coaches and athletes as well as participate in educational and motivational sessions. The National Diversity Select Camp is the premier camp aimed to select the top diverse and outreach athletes from across the country.
South Texas has been represented well at the all camps with the following athletes being selected most recently:
- Jayde Walz from Wave Swimming - 2014
- Robert Anaya from Costal Bend Allstars - 2014
- Corban Rawls from Nitro Swimming - 2015
