Pre Team Program Information and Policies


 

 

REGISTRATION

Registration is ongoing so you can register whenever your child is ready to start swimming.  Click on PRE TEAM SIGN UP and follow the easy steps.  Think of each swim class as an item that you are purchasing and putting into your shopping cart.  Different days are different items and items must be purchased separately for different children.  Everything can go into the shopping cart and purchased together at the end of the registration process.  

  

You only have to register once and you are then billed on a monthly recurring basis until you cancel your lessons.

 

PAYMENT

We only accept credit cards:  Visa, Mastercard and Discover.  When you register, you will be asked for your credit card information and you will be charged immediately for the remainder of the lessons for that month (see prorated classes below).  After your first month, you will be charged for your classes on the first of the month for that month of classes.  For example, you will be charged on April 1 for your April classes.  It is your responsibility to notify the team if your credit card number changes.  Please click on the “Contact Us” button on the website and someone will call you to get the new number.  Please do not put your credit card information in the email as email is not a secure form of communication.  If your credit card is declined, you have until the 10th of the month to update your card details.  After the 10th, your child will not be allowed to swim and it will be possible for your spot to be given away.

 

Multi-Swimmer Discounts

For families that have more than one swimmer on the team, TSM offers the following discounts. The discount in the prior year was credited on a quarterly basis. With the change in billing, the discount will be applied in each of the billing months.

2nd Swimmer Discount = 10% reduction of the monthly payments and any surcharge fee.

3rd and each additional Swimmer Discount = 20% reduction of the monthly payments and any surcharge fee.

 

PRORATED CLASSES

We prorate classes only for the first month that you sign up.  For example, October has 5 Mondays.  If you sign up after October 15 (the third Monday) and before October 22 (the fourth Monday), you will be charged for the fourth and fifth remaining Mondays.  We do NOT prorate charges if you decide to cancel your lessons in the middle of the month.  Please see the cancelation policy below.

 

MOVE UPS

The coaches will assess when your child is ready to be moved up to the next level.  You will be notified via email that your child is ready to be moved up. Please respond promptly as move up spots will be given away on a first come, first served basis.

 

SWITCHING CLASSES

If you would like to permanently switch class days and/or times, please e-mailpcadmin@teamsantamonica.orgbefore the 20th of the current month to request a new class.  Please indicate which day and time you would like to switch to.

 

MAKE UP POLICY

We do not refund for missed classes.  If you miss a class or need to schedule a make up lesson, please log in to your account and choose the MAKE UP REQUEST option from the drop down menu under Pre Team tab. Please note that you can only request make ups for the current month only; you will need to be registered to request a make up lesson. Once we receive your make up request we will send you a confirmation email. One-time class switches are considered make ups. If a scheduled class falls on a pool closure date, we will offer you an additional make up day. All make up days will expire at the end of the month, and make ups do not carry over to other months. Each swimmer is given 2 make ups per month.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

You must notify the team by submitting a request HERE if you wish to cancel your lessons. This MUST be done on the 27th of the month prior to the start of the next month. For example, if you wish to stop lessons as of May 1, you must contact the team by April 27 to avoid being billed for the month of May.  We do not give refunds for cancelling in the middle of the month.  THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY.

 

SCHOLARSHIP  

TSM has a limited amount of scholarship funds available for qualified swimmers and are provided for families that may have temporary or on-going financial needs. The amount of the TSM Scholarship is based on family income size and awarded by a subcommittee of the Board of Directors.  Swimmers awarded a scholarship are expected to be committed to their training by attending their coach’s required number of lessons. Parents of scholarship swimmers are encouraged to provide volunteer time to help the coaches and club. Please read the scholarship guidelines for all of the requirements and expectations.

Scholarship Process:   The initial application period is prior to the start of each new swim season (due by July 31st) that starts September of each year (September – August). In mid-August, the TSM Scholarship Committee reviews all applications received and selects the swimmers to be award a scholarship. For those swimmers awarded a scholarship TSM allocates the scholarship budget for the entire swim season starting September 1st. TSM does accept scholarship applications throughout the swim season, but they are put on a waiting list if approved. If any scholarship swimmer does not maintain their required participation level at any quarter review, leaves, or waives their scholarship credit the TSM Scholarship Committee will then award the most deserving swimmer on the waiting list. To be on the waiting list after the swim season starts the swimmer must be a current member of TSM. If there is no waiting list and there are scholarship credits in the budget, the TSM Scholarship Committee will award it to the new swimmer if their application is approved.
