Senior Groups

                   SENIOR TRAINING GROUPS     

Our Senior Competitive programs are structured to produce outstanding swimmers and leaders through intensified training and competition at the national and world levels.  The Senior Silver and Senior Gold team swimmers by definition comprise the most dedicated and skilled swimmers on our club.  They are expected to train and compete at an elite level will maintaining a rigorous training schedule.  This rigorous training schedule will push each swimmer to their limits physically and mentally which will allow them to reach the level of success they desire. The following standards apply throughout the year, fall through summer.   Participation in a full meet schedule is required. All swimmers in the Senior training groups will have a one time registration fee of $130 for the first swimmer and $115 for each additional swimmer(s), along with becoming members of the Carter Athletic Center. he CAC Membership will be added ($60) to each families monthly invoice through team unify (our website). Each swimmer/family will have the option to pay for the season/year in full (at a reduced rate) or opt to pay in monthly installments for their commitment level.  Please click this link to see the 2017-2018 Group Training Fees.   Please note that meet fees and coach travel fees (related to meet fees) are additional charges that will be invoiced after registration for each meet is completed.  

SENIOR DEVELOPMENT (SRD) -  

(Begins Tuesday, Sept. 5th, 2017)   14 years and Older         3x per week (Tues/Weds/Thurs) 90-120 minutes

The Senior Development is our first level in the Senior Competitive Swimming program.  The SRD team is designed for the older swimmer who may be new to the sport of swimming or who may have other commitments (sports) that do not allow them to participate fully but do wish to compete regularly.  The The SRD team focus will be on proper technique and physical conditioning toward competition.  Race strategy and goal setting will be utilized in this group.  The practice commitment and opportunities are not as expansive as our Senior Teams. 

            Ages:                              14 years and older

               Practice Sessions:                    4x per week (90-120 minutes)

Attendance Requirements:   3x per week minimum to stay on the SRD team.

SRD Admittance:                  Coach approval only

Meet Requirements:              Attendance at all season meets is encouraged and all swimmers in SRD will be entered in the following meets (if qualified): December Championship Meet; District Champs in Feb; Age Group Champs in March, Summer Awards Champs in July and Age Group Champs in July.

Registration Commitment:   7-Month (with a 4 mos summer option) - or - 11-Month Commitment

 SENIOR SILVER (SRS) -

(Begins Tuesday, Sept. 5th, 2017)   14 years and older          7x per weeek  (with 1 AM practice)  120-150 minutes

The Senior Silver team is the second level in the Competitive Senior swimming program.  A strong commitment is required for admittance to this group.  Physical conditioning and training in practice will be a very strong focus of SRS swimmers along with the focus to utilize proper swimming technique during intense training and race situations.  Dryland training will take on a new level of importance in SRS.  Swimmers in this group are encouraged to advance into the Senior Gold team. Goal setting geared toward qualifying for or performing in the highest level of competitions is stressed for all Senior Silver swimmers.  The Coaching staff will work together to determine if swimmers are ready for SRS based on training ability, commitment level, swim meet participation, personal times (A, AA, AAA etc) and commitment to participating in an environment where swimmers hold each other accountable in their attendance and work ethic towards creating a cohesive training environment.

            Ages:                              15 years of age and older

                 Practice Sessions:                   7x per week (120-150 minutes)

Attendance Requirements:    5x per week minimum to stay on the SRS team.

SRS Admittance:                 Coach approval only

              Meet Requirements:              Expected to compete once per month.  In addition all swimmers in SRS will be entered in the following meets (if qualified): December Championship Meet; District Champs in Feb; Age Group Champs in March, Summer Awards Champs in July and Age Group Champs in July.

SENIOR GOLD (SRG) -

(Begins Tuesday, Sept. 5th, 2017)    15 years and older        8x per week (with 2 AM’s)  120-150 minutes

The Senior Gold (SRG) training team is the highest level of competitive training in the Marlins program. Swimmers in this group understand that a full commitment to the sport of swimming is require to reach their full potential.  Each swimmer on the SRG team will have a strong understanding of proper swimming technique, a strong knowledge of interval based training and a strong desire to reach the National and International level. A detailed multi-year training and competition plan will be followed with an emphasis on training. The swimmers on SRG will be expected to be active participants in utilizing and following the skills and commitment of Elite level swimming. Swimmers will work closely with the Coach and parents on a future in collegiate swimming. 

            Ages:                              15 years of age and older

               Practice Sessions:                  8x per week (120-150 minutes)

Attendance Requirements:    7x per week minimum to stay on the SRG team.

SRG Admittance:                 Coach approval only
