Practice Schedules

 

Lake Geneva Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Lake Geneva Swim Club to offer specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Level 1 (Red): Non-USA / USA Beginner Swim Team

Offering: (non-USA or USA competitive swim instruction)

Monday - Thursday from 6:00-6:30pm.  SWIMMERS CHOOSE 3 DAYS.  

Skills: swimmer can swim 15 yards on their stomach and on their back with flutter kick in a flat
body position

Goals: front and back streamline push-offs; front crawl w/side breathing (1 every 4th stroke, both sides), back crawl, standing racing swing dive; ability to start from pace clock; and enable swimmers to swim front and back crawl one length of the pool

Equipment: mesh swim bag, 2 pair of goggles, & short shoe fins

Meets: i.Squad Meets, t.Squad Meets optional if USA registered.

Level 2 (White) - USA: Competitive Swim Instruction

Offering: (non-USA: competitive swim instruction)

Monday - Thursday from 6:30-7:30pm.  SWIMMERS CHOOSE 3 DAYS.  

Skills: completed Level 4 goals

Stamina Level: one length of the pool • flutter kick front and back crawl and swim front and back crawl

Goals: prepare swimmer for stamina requirements of next level; master front crawl w/alternate breathing; introduction to breaststroke & butterfly kicks; introduction to breaststroke & butterfly arm movements;
backstroke start, racing dive, and all competitive touch turns

Equipment: mesh swim bag, 2 pair of goggles, center mount snorkel & short shoe fins

Meets: i.Squad Meets, t.Squad Meets optional if USA registered.

Level 3 (Blue) - USA: Competitive Swim Instruction

Offering: 5 practices/week

Monday - Thursday from 6:30-8:00pm.  SWIMMERS CHOOSE 3 DAYS. 

Skills: has completed Level 5 goals

Stamina Level: [email protected]

Goals: prepare swimmer for the stamina requirements of next level; master breaststroke & butterfly, master relay starts, develop the ability to get times from clock, learn to take their “pulse;” master all touch turns including IM; and continue to qualify for Championship Meets • Test Sets (one set once a wk): [email protected] swim or [email protected] kick or 10 min. swim (count touches)

Equipment: mesh swim bag, 2 pair of goggles, center mount snorkel, Finis yellow one dot thumb paddles & short shoe fins

Meets: i.Squad Meets, t.Squad Meets and Champ Meets qualified for.

Senior Group

Offering: 5 practices/week

Monday - Friday from 5:30-6:00pm Dryland

Monday - Friday from 6:00-8:15pm Pool

Skills: completed all goals and met all requirements of earlier levels; proficient in all aspects
of competitive swimming

Goals: prepare swimmer for high-level meets; continue to master “buckets” and “indexing“ race pace training; continue “Own the Red Zone“ and “second segment“ race focus (smart strategic swimming),” work on a “positive competitive mindset (pre-race prep),” and continue to qualify for Champ Meets • Test Sets (one set once a week): [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected] or 30min. swim (count touches) or the “Cycle”

Equipment: water bottle, mesh swim bag, 2 pair of goggles, center mount snorkel, Finis yellow one dot thumb paddles & short shoe fins •
