The first waves are Olympic Tri racers, followed by special requests or groups that are traveling together. The fastest wave actually starts later, so that most athletes finish closer to each other, for award purposes.

SPRINT RACE INFO: 

Swim (500 yards = 20 lengths or 10 laps):  Athletes will be placed into waves based upon their 500 yard free times.  There are 2 swimmers per lane.  You start approx. 10 seconds apart and stay on your own side.

Bike route (13 miles):  country road loop (out and back, relatively flat).

Run course (3 miles):  this is a popular part of the course as you run through a nature preserve and through the cross country trails.  This is the most challenging part of the race.  Click here.

OLYMPIC RACE INFORMATION:


Swim (1000 yards = 40 lengths or 20 laps):  Athletes will be placed into waves based upon their 1000 yard free times.  There are 2 swimmers per lane.  You start approx. 10 seconds apart and stay on your own side.  If you dio not give a 1000 yard time, their 500 yard time was doubled, then a cushion of 30 seconds was added.

Bike route (27.5 miles):  country road loop (relatively flat - do the  loop TWICE!!). Click Here.
