Part Time Head Coach for USA Swim Team
ALASKA, NORTH POLE
North Pole Aquatic Club (NPAC)
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the operation and development of our USA swimming program under the direction and guidance of the Aquatic Clubs Board of Directors. They will facilitate a positive & nurturing environment for all athletes.  The Head Coach must develop the skills and talents of the team members and coaching staff while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and encouraging personal development and excellence.
 
NPAC is a member owned club which operates a year round USA swim team consisting of the club members. The team practices are held at Wescott Pool attached to North Pole Middle School in North Pole, AK. North Pole Aquatic Club team consists of 60-80 swimmers from age 6-18. The team practices throughout the season mostly in the afternoons after school on weekdays and Saturday mornings. This position is a year round part time position.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee assistant coaches and ensure that coaching standards are being met.
  • Provide the environment to improve team members’ stroke technique, endurance, and speed.
  • Attend all weekly practices at their scheduled times.
  • Travel to swim meets to support and coach swimmers.
  • Maintain and promote activities pertaining to the swim team as well as NPAC programs. This includes social and team building events.
  • Act as a role model for all swimmers
  • Create development plans for swimmers, helping them set goals and how they will achieve them.
  • Recruit, retain and grow the team.
  • Ensure open and timely communication with swimmers and parents.
  • Encourage and offer opportunities for children to participate in year-round and summer swimming programs.
  • Promote swimming in a positive and fun learning environment for all ages.
  • Provide assistance to Board of Directors when needed and communicate needs and issues of the team.
  • Responsible for overall safety of team members and assisting staff.
Qualification/Requirements:
  • USA swimming Level 3 Certification or higher
  • Member of USA Swimming
  • Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification
  • Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid preferred
  • Experience working with children in large groups.
  • Must be able to communicate with members, management, and staff
  • Proven team management skills
Education/Training/Experience:
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. Equivalency
  • USA Swim Coach’s certification level 3
  • 2+ years of coaching USA or Club level swim team
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, AED, and 1stAid Certifications, strongly preferred, or Safety Training for Swim Coaches Certification
Compensation 25-35k per year based on experience and qualification

The Haines Dolphins Swim Team is recruiting for a Head Coach to lead the team in their upcoming season, September 2017 through April 2018.

The salary for this half-time position is $1,845/month. The Head Coach supervises as many as 3 Assistant Coaches, depending on the number of team participants.

Baranof Barracuda Swim Club (BBSC), in beautiful Sitka, Alaska, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach. BBSC averages 75-90 age group swimmers, 12-15 masters, and a developmental swim program. The club currently uses a 25 yard municipal pool, with practice times generally available before and after typical school hours, with Saturday mornings as an option.

 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with swimmers of all ages and abilities, while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development. The Head Coach will also be able to work effectively with the Board of Directors and swimmers' parents, and will be comfortable supervising and developing the assistant coaching staff, currently comprised of 1 assistant coach. Solid time management skills are a must, as is the ability to work with the HYTEK Team Manager/Meet Manager system, Team Unify website and related resources, OnDeck and DeckPass a plus. Fundraising and event organization are also helpful skills. The position requires Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid/Safety Training for Swim Coaches, desired a minimum ASCA level 2. Several years of coaching experience, preferably as a Head or Assistant Head Coach, is also expected.

Anchorage YMCA Swim Team is looking for a positive and encouraging individual to coach our Novice athletes. The ideal candidate has technical knowledge of swimming, fantastic communication skills, and patience by the armload. Scheduled hours are 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and pay is DOE. NLSC Learn to Swim/Stroke School Instructors -  Northern Lights Swim Club is looking for experienced swimming instructors. Late afternoon/early evening time slots starting at $12-$16 per hour. Must be able to work well with children ages 3 and up. Resumes and references a must.
