Learn to Swim Director Wanted - Northern Lights Swim Club (NLSC) is accepting resumes for Director for it's Learn to Swim and Stroke School program. The program runs at Service Pool. The Director operates the swim lesson and stroke school programs including:  

  • hiring, firing, certification, and supervision of staff
  • advertising, public relations, and promoting the program
  • communications with staff and clientele
  • adhering to the curriculum and providing high quality instruction

The time commitment will roughly break down into:

  • 6-7 hours a week of on deck Program Director related duties
  • 5-6 hours a week of Program Director administrative duties

Supervisory experience is preferred, as is experience and/or knowledge of competitive swimming and swimming lessons. Applicant should be energetic, enthusiastic, firm but fare, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. The position will be filled by someone who is able to work well and communicate with lesson staff, students, parents, coaching staff, and facility staff.

This position is part-time, but has opportunity to expand beyond it's current parameters. All applicants must pass a background screening check.

ASSISTANT SWIM COACH NEEDED ASAP!

 

Wasilla Waves Swim Club is actively looking to hire an assistant part-time coach.  The successful candidate must have a competitive swim background and knowledge of all strokes and turns.  Coaching experience preferred but not required.  The candidate must also enjoy working with children, work independently, motivate the children and communicate with parents and head coach.  

 

The successful candidate must also be willing to become Lifeguard certified, USA Swimming certified, and complete coaching requirements. 

 

The candidate for this part-time position must have availability to work varied hours and days; typically M-F 3:00 pm to 7:30pm (an average of 3-5 hours per week, no more than 10 hours). 

There also may be occasional weekend travel involved for swim meets.

 

Pay is DOE but will start at $15.00/hr and will be re-evaluated at 90 days.

The Haines Dolphins Swim Team is actively seeking applicants for a part-time Head Coach, to begin duties August 15, 2020. We are looking for an enthusiastic coach who can make swimming fulfilling and relevant for both competitive and recreational swimmers. 

 

Successful applicants will have: a competitive swimming background (preference will be given to those with coaching experience and current USA Swimming Association certifications); computer skills; and be able to work independently, motivate and communicate well with swimmers as well as parents, and have experience in conflict resolution and childhood development.

 

A successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to work independently and also within dynamic situations. An ability to implement a drylands program is critical for older age-group simmers. Willingness to follow all current USA Swimming health mandates is a must. Our coaches not only train swimmers for competition, but also instill in them a strong work ethic, self discipline, sportsmanship, team work and good health habits.

 

The position is paid for a minimum of 25 hours a week and includes on average 20 travel days per season. The The HDST season runs from late August to mid-May.

 

Salary DOE, starts at $1850/mo. plus a $1500 successful-end-of-season-completion bonus. Opportunities to earn outside HDST include private swim lessons, stroke programs, a Masters program, and life guarding.

About ESA

ESA is a coach run program with approximately 250 swimmers, and is located in Atascocita/Humble, Texas (Northeast Houston). We have an outstanding age group team which ranked #40 in ASCA’s 2022 Top 100 Age Group Programs, and boasts 7 athletes ranking top 20 nationally. ESA’s age groupers placed 7th at our state short course age group championships (TAGS) this past spring. Competitive salary (commensurate experience), great community, supportive parents, and a coach-run club. Requirements 

  • ASCA Level III or above.
  • Must have (or obtain prior to being in deck) certifications in Adult & Pediatric/Child CPR and AED, as well as Safety Training for Swim Coaches (STSC).
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs. coaching experience preferred
  • Passionate about swimming & teaching & development of younger/newer athletes.
  • Knowledge of competitive swimming and all swimming strokes (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle)
  • Must possess / be able to demonstrate:
    • Professionalism, 
    • leadership skills,
    • Decision making ability (in interest of athletes & organization),
    • Timely & professional communication (written & verbal) with coaches, parents and swimmers,
    • & be willing to follow directives from board / owner. 
  • Must possess good problem solving skills and have the capability to act rationally and calmly in all situations.
  • Ability to work with and maintain professional relationships with staff & high school coaches.
  • Must have working knowledge of Team Unify & Hytek. 
  • Responsible management of team funds. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for developing our Age Group program swimmers (ages 5-14) to be ready to compete at the Jr & Sr Levels.
  • Develop and maintain a season plan for the Age Group Program that shows increased knowledge of the progression of our age group program and develops innovative techniques that show success and improvement. (This includes yardage and technique goals as well as how the group is being differentiated).
  • Responsible for writing a monthly report on the prior month’s success, needs for improvement, and goals for the next month.
  • Work collaboratively with the head coach to develop and follow through on program goals to enhance a club that is consistently trying to meet its mission/vision while always trying to innovate.
  • Assist Head coach as needed.
  • Supervise swimmers in the pool area at all times.
  • Responsible for helping maintain a safe atmosphere by adhering to all USA swimming rules and regulations and providing positive and constructive feedback to our swimmers and parents.
    • Must show ability to work with and communicate well with all age group parents and athletes.
    • Greet, acknowledge, and interact with members at all times.
    • Create an educational, safe and inviting experience for all participants.
    • Initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with all participants
    • Provide a safe, clean and organized pool area
  • In charge of:
    • Aiding head coach with setting calendar – practice & meet schedules
    • Aiding head coach with staffing and staff schedules
  • Staff mentoring & development (including professional development)
    • Aiding head coach with team / organization planning & development (including help starting & staffing a learn to swim program)
    • Meet entries for age groups swimmers
  • Aid in management of age group travel.
  • Maintain team practice and master calendars and reporting the monthly calendar to our school district (rental) liaison.
  • Run monthly meetings with age group coaches
  • Vacation - two weeks in August and one in March built in as well as one during either Thanksgiving or Holiday Break (concurrent with school breaks), or upon request and approval.
