This is our young novice level group geared toward 5-8 year olds interested in continued swim instruction with a low key introduction to competitive swimming.

Requirements:  Level 4 YMCA Swim Strokes Continuum, including basic concept of front crawl with rhythmic breathing and backstroke. Swim 25 yards of either stroke without stopping.

Team Requirement: Swimmers must participate in one swim meet per season 

The focus of this group will be to teach swimmers the basics of competitive swimming in a smaller group setting with athletes of like abilities, ages, and sizes. Meets are not required, but highly encouraged.

Workout Days/Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-4:30 pm

Cost: $60 Monthly  ($70 Monthly for NON YMCA Members)

​Required Gear:

Competitive Style Swim Goggles (no diving mask styles please), Swim Caps for all girls and boys if hair is long,

Swim suit that fits well so that swimmers can focus on swimming and not on keeping their suits in place. This is extremely important when doing streamline work, turns, and starts.
