Jordan Slaughter - Head Coach

Swim615 Elite and Varsity Coach

Swimming History:

Jordan's swimming career began at the age of 6 when he lost a race at a friend's birthday party and asked if he could join the swim team to ensure that it would never happen again.  He developed a love for swimming at the summer league level and decided to swim year-round in order to fill his competitive drive.  He swam for the Nashville Aquatic Club starting and age 8, continuing until he graduated from Brentwood High School in 2008.

While competing for NAC, Jordan qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials, was part of 3 National Age Group record setting relays, and helped Brentwood High School become the first public school in Tennessee to win a State Championship on the Men's side.

While competing for the University of Arizona Jordan represented the school at the Pac-10 (now Pac-12) and NCAA Championships, qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials, and placed 15th in the 200m Butterfly at the 2009 World Championship Trials.

Jordan attributes his swimming success to his world-class coaches, parents who never pushed but always supported, and close friends who made the sport fun while providing a competitive atmosphere.  All of these influences instilled a love of swimming and a drive to always be better which still remains in Jordan today.

Coaching History:

Since High School, Jordan has known that coaching was what he wanted to do with his life after competition.  He started his coaching career in March of 2013 at Father Ryan High School where he was the Head Middle School Coach and assisted with the High School team for two years.  He has spent his last two summers coaching in the Nashville Swim League for the Traceside Bearracudas and then for the Sequoia Cyclones.  He also coached the Music City Masters swim team out of the Maryland Farms YMCA.

Jordan founded Swim615 in the Spring of 2015 in order to use his experience and passion to help others find a love of the sport that he believes has taught him many valuable life lessons.  He is looking forward to working with other swimming leaders in order to strengthen and grow the Nashville swimming community.

Ellen Crosby - Team Administrator

Varsity and Junior Varsity Coach

Swimming History:

Ellen Crosby decided to try summer league swimming at age 11 at the Country Club of Franklin, where all of her middle school friends had been swimming for years. Already a runner, she developed a love for swimming, which led to years of summer swimming, fall cross country, winter swimming, and spring track and field.  In 2004, Ellen started competing in Triathlons which is where she puts most of her focus in to training.

Coaching History:

As soon as she could drive, she began teaching swimming lessons and helping with summer league swim teams.  In 2005, Ellen became an instructor and a coach for the 10-and-Unders at Excel Aquatics. During her time with Excel, Ellen worked with young kids, competitive teenagers, Masters, and special needs. After teaching at a special needs school for a year, she accepted the opportunity to become the director of Excel Swim School, where she stayed for 3 years. In the meantime, she was also the head coach of the 13-18 year old Gold 2 group and the Masters coach. In June of 2015, Ellen came to Swim615 in order to be part of a brand new program and use her previous experience to help build new programs from scratch.
