Where to Meet & park?

The majority of lessons start in the IM Building, please see directions to the Intramural Building.  You will park in the Blue Zone lot click here for directions.  In order to get into the Blue Zone, you'll need a parking pass. Follow these instructions to get a tempory, free pass:

The free After Hours Parking Permit will work for anyone who attends practices after 5pm

    
Start at this page: 
  • Set up an account on the top right by signing up for an account
  • Hit purchase permit
  • Fill in your address
  • Choose after-hours permit
  • Add your vehicle. You may enter another vehicle if more than one person takes or drops off your diver.
  • At the Cart page click "Next"
  • On the Payment Page click "Pay Now". (Note that there is no charge)
  • On the Payment Receipt page, you will see a link to "Print Permit" 

Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion (Pool) 

Tasihoff Aquatics Pavilion is located on Duke University's West Campus and located between the football and basketball stadium.  Click here for directions

 

The facility includes one of the few indoor 10-meter towers in the Southeast, as well as five and seven-meter platforms. The facility also has two one-meter and two three-meter springboards, equipped with maxiflex boards. The separate diving well measures 66 feet by 42 feet with a depth of 17 feet.

 

Dryland Facility

The Dryland facility is now located in the IM Building, which is situated directly behind the pool.  Here divers have access to four dry diving boards, three trampolines, and a spring floor.

Additionally, there are a few ungated parking spaces along Whitford Drive, as well as the Science Drive Visitor Lot and and the Bryan Center Parking Deck accessible off of Science Drive.  Another area for ungated parking spaces is along Frank Basset Drive, this is about a 4 minute walk to the gym, which you walk round the stadium and into the blue zone.  For more information on visitor parking, visit this link: http://parking.duke.edu/parking/visitor_parking/

Please note that parking in the Whitford Circle/Cameron Loop is prohibited.

If you need to drop a diver off at the dryland facility, you should be able to access the Blue Zone Lot by buzzing the Parking Office via the button on the parking arm/gate.  Per Parking & Transportation, please do not park in this lot unless you have a valid Blue Zone or Night permit - you could be ticketed. 

Directions to the Pool

  • Via I-40 West: Exit onto the Durham Freeway (N.C. 147). Take Durham Freeway to Chapel Hill St. exit (#13).

  • Take right on Chapel Hill St. Continue straight on Chapel Hill St. until it turns into Duke University Rd. Cross Anderson St. to Chapel Dr.

  • Turn right on to Towerview Road and continue until the circle.

  • At the circle take the 3rd exit (turn left) on to Wannamaker Drive

  • Park in the first parking lot on your right

  • Once parked walk away from Wannamaker Drive towards the back of the parking lot- towards Wallace Wade Stadium.  At the bottom turn right and walk with the IM building on your right.

  • When you get to the corner of the building (with the tennis courts in front of you) turn left and walk all the way to the other corner of the building grass on your right.

  • At the corner turn left and walk until you see the ramp on your left.

  • Walk down the ramp and the swimming and diving entrance is the glass in front on you.

Directions to the Dryland Center

  • Via I-40 West: Exit onto the Durham Freeway (N.C. 147). Take Durham Freeway to Chapel Hill St. exit (#13).

  • Take right on Chapel Hill St. Continue straight on Chapel Hill St. until it turns into Duke University Rd. Cross Anderson St. to Chapel Dr.

  • As you approach campus the blue zone lot will be on the right just after Towerview Rd. 

  • Scan your pass, come to the top of the hill and park in the lots on the left.

  • Once parked walk away from Wannamaker Drive towards the back of the parking lot- towards Wallace Wade Stadium.  At the bottom turn right and the IM building (Dryland Center) is the building on the right.
